So, my Lightning just had her birthday (7-27), and I've kept track of all the charging and mileage for the year. I'm basing the numbers off of my electricity cost (.08 kWh), gas cost (average of $2.90) and the Average MPG of my last F-150 ICE Truck (about 20 mpg). The truck has literally paid for the charger I bought, and the cost of the electrician to install it!

Lifetime Mileage 11740
Lifetime Electric Costs $456.16

And the savings will only go up from here.

And by next year you'll have saved for a new set of tires.

Thanks for tracking your 1 yr costs. I'm sure some future potential owners will find the thread.

Looks like about $0.04/mile for electricity, vs. $0.14/mile for gas for you in Missouri. Unfortunately for me, our electricity is at least $0.30/kWh, 3+x higher, although gas is $4.30, here in south coastal California. However, if doing trips using DCFC at ~$0.50/kWh, the savings compared to gas disappear. I met a Tesla M3 owner that was still getting free supercharging and doing Lyft rides part-time. If only there was no depreciation!

Good work.

Did you account for the various charges the utility puts on the bill for things like "distribution" and "fuel?"

My off-peak rate is 4.8 cents (summer) and 5.79 cents (winter) but when I add in the other related charges, it comes out to more like about 10 to 15 cents per kWh.

Still cheaper than an ICE vehicle like my old 2001 Ford Ranger XLT (low emission vehicle) that got 20 on the Hwy.
