I was perusing the interwebs in an effort to bring you guys the most breaking and cutting-edge Gen14F150 information and my eye caught this possible difference while looking at a 2022 F-150 Tremor that was for sale.

Ford's "DEATC" (Dual Electronic Temperature Control) appears to have been modified for 2022 F-150s.

For the 2021 model year, trucks with the dual zone climate control had two knobs with a small screen that gave you the exact temperature degree reading of each zone. For 2022 it looks like this was done away with for some reason.

Bear in mind, the 2022 truck may not have been turned on, but the big power button in the middle seems to suggest the layout for the 2022 model will be slightly different. Maybe the red/blue adjusts around the knob as the user sets the temperature? Is it some other cool new feature, or simply a cost cutting measure because the little screens were too expensive?

UNCONFIRMED: An unfortunate update if true. No more ambient lighting either for 2022.

In regards to the temperature reading being on the screens; the 2021s show the adjusted readout on the screen as well.

I see how this feature can be deemed redundant, but it’s little things like this that make the truck feel that much more upscale and deserving of their steep price tags…

Definitely not show stoppers but I like both of those features.

Knobs don’t bother me much, but I hope the ambient lighting isn’t being removed from all trims.

Yeah, not deal breakers/show stoppers like you said, but makes me wonder why the $895 price increase for 2022 models was implemented then. More cash, less bling.

Fingers crossed that there will be some left over parts for the early builds to have the nice little touches.

Bummer. I like the readout on the knobs, to me it makes it much easier to check at a quick glance vs trying to find it in a screen and taking my eyes off the road.

The ambient light is nice but there’s so much power available in the console that I’m sure there will be plenty of aftermarket options for those who want it.

Can we get some confirmation on the ambient cupholder lighting being removed?

I was already working on a custom design for the acrylic insert.

Who do I need to throw out a window to make sure the ambient cupholder lighting stays?

I have no other information as of yet. It’s hard, but we just have to wait and see…..

Ford: we’ll screw new owners by making them pay more for less. But also we’ll give new owners features (like camera in motion) and keep those features from our older customers. Gotta love it! ?
