Not sure... I also cut the front like the others, but I had to trim the sides a bit as well towards the back because my tires were rubbing. I used a portaband to make the cuts and an angle grinder to even things out. The black trim helps hide all the ugliness from the cuts. For the front mounting I bought the Raptor brackets that bolt onto the frame. They kind of fit but not exactly. I had to bend the guide tabs because the slot for them were a little bit further than it needed to be. Bought M10 u clips and M10 screws (35mm) to secure the brackets. My goal was to use the brackets for more stability in the front, but there was still a gap between the skid plate and the brackets so I don't know how solid it would be if I really tried to slide it over rocks. I used 70mm M10 bolts and M10 u clips for the front 4 bolts. For the rear I did my best to line it up with the existing mounting point for the motor skid plate and I think I used 70mm M10 bolts there too. Could probably go with 60mm for all of them but the longer ones made it easier to line things up.
Thanks for the detailed reply. Did that black trim piece come with it or did you use door weatherstripping like others did?

Here is the one I used: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0C8J4FWG8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1. It covers a bit more of the metal than I would have liked, but it has metal clips inside that help hold it in place which i like.

The Raptor bracket part numbers are HL3Z-6G079-C. $70 for the pair. Here are the u clips:

I was to do it over again, I might consider going with the tremor skid plate instead of the Raptor skid plate. It may bolt up easier, not sure....

Do you recall about how much metal you trimmed off the leading edge of the skid plate? was it more than an inch?

Thanks for the inspiration and tips. My experience was about the same as @derelict...lots of trial and error. I used flange bolts from ace hardware with the linked raptor brackets, clips and trim.

A little more detail for others while it's fresh in my mind...I think the rear bolts were 70mm M10 that used existing holes/clips on the truck and had to drill new holes in the skid plate. The front bolts that connected to the raptor brackets were 45mm M10. I cut the alignment tab off of each bracket and re-used a hole in the frame that attached the splash guard. Removed the little bolts and clips and replaced with the ones from Amazon and re-used the bolts from the back to attached the brackets. I only cut the front lip off and adjusted the sides with trial and error. I didn't have to trim anything off the back because I'm running 35x10.5r17 so the tires clear everything with no cutting. Hopefully this helps someone...It was definitely a job for me as someone who doesn't do this type of work. Next I want to add a little protection where the factory skid doesn't protect the plastic coolant connections into the battery pack.
