🛻 BedRug is Now Husky – Preorders for the New Guardian Comfort and Guardian Impact

Many of you are already familiar with the products from BedRug. They’ve been a popular choice for years for anyone who wants bed protection and a sleek, trimmed look.

Those products are now moving under the Husky Liners lineup, and the new versions are starting to roll out.

We’re consolidating these products under the Husky brand since it’s already home to many of the protection accessories on your truck. Husky manufactures your hood shields, vent visors, floor liners, mud guards, and fender flares to name a few — so bringing bed protection into that same lineup just makes sense.

The name on the box and the badge on the liner may be changing, but the product itself isn’t. These are the same premium systems, built with the same materials by the same team and delivering the same performance that made them popular in the first place.

Rather than wait until these land on the website, I wanted to open forum preorders so members here can get in on the first production runs.

đźšš First batch is set to start shipping in April!

✅ I’ll be handling these directly so I can:

âś” Confirm fitment
âś” Check current production timing
✔ Make sure you’re getting the right setup for your truck bed

đź“‹ How to Reserve One

Below is a numbered list of the new Husky bed protection products that are available to start reserving.

If you see something you’re interested in, just comment with the product number and your vehicle info and I’ll get your preorder started!

Pardon my ignorance, but I had no idea that "Real Truck" is the parent company of all these brands...

Personally I think it was unwise to get rid of the Bedrug label/naming even if you move it under Husky as it is an established brand. Bet you'll get a million questions along the lines of "is it the same product" and "how does Husky XYZ compare to Bedrug XYZ"

I've had my Bedrug so long I really can't remember what version it is. It covers the whole bed including the tailgate and has the closed cell foam sections on the underside that fit into the bed and cushion the load and make the floor flat. After a disastrous experience with a paint-to-match LineX spray liner on my 2011 F-150 I opted for this Bedrug on my 2015 F-150 Lariat. It's worked so well I've just moved it through the years to my 2018 and 2020 Raptors, my 2021 Powerboost, and finally to my 2022 Lightning. It's a bit stained in places, but I pull it out of the bed once a year and clean everything off of it with the pressure washer and then turn it upside down and leave it over the top of the cab to dry in the sun before putting it back. The bed still looks great, so obviously it protects very well!

How awesome! Moving it through over four F-150's and it still performs like new. Glad you are getting great use out of it, they really are built to last!

Can you confirm if these options are all precut to vehicle or do I need to cut to fit? Obviously prefer a 'drop in' install vs. pulling out sharp knifes....

Color me interested.

I drive a 2023 ER Lariat, and installed AMP PowerSteps less than a month after buying the truck. My wife has arthritis and Ehlers-Danlos -- the steps help immensely with her ability to get in and out of the truck.

I have four big uses for the bed:
  1. The Lightning is our road-trip machine, and if we're going to be away for more than a weekend, this means that there will be at least one suitcase in the bed. The spray-in bed liner is rough on suitcases, doesn't really prevent them from sliding around, and also doesn't provide any cushioning if they do bang into the sides or tailgate. I pad them with moving blankets and hope for the best.
  2. If we are going somewhere that involves significantly more than an hour of walking and or standing, we typically take my wife's folding wheelchair so that she will have a place to sit.. This also rides in the bed, secured with bungee cords, and again the spray-in bed liner isn't great for the wheelchair, either. Again, I pad it with moving blankets and hope for the best.
  3. I do woodworking as a hobby, and 2-4 times a year, I'll go one of my suppliers to haul up to 1000lb of hardwood lumber and hardwood veneer plywood back to my shop. The hardwood lumber can be rough (meaning not planed or smooth -- plenty of splinters). Hauling lumber is why I had a bed liner installed in the first place.
  4. Finally, I sometimes deliver finished pieces to friends and relatives (which is why iI have the moving blankets).
So, what do you think?

So, what do you think?

For your road trips and the wheelchair, the Husky Guardian Comfort is perfect. You’ll get way more grip and cushioning than a spray-in, so suitcases aren’t sliding all over and you can probably ditch the moving blankets for most trips. Same goes for the wheelchair, less shifting, less wear, and a bit of built-in shock absorption.

On the woodworking side, it actually works well with what you’re doing, not against it. The material is tough enough to handle rough lumber, people haul firewood and construction materials on these all the time, but you’re not grinding everything directly into a hard spray-in surface. Splinters aren’t an issue for the liner itself, and cleanup is easy.

For finished pieces, this is another big win. The added cushion and grip helps protect your work without needing to fully rely on blankets, though I’d still throw one down for anything super delicate.

Big picture, better protection for your cargo like suitcases, wheelchair, and furniture. Less sliding means less hassle. Still durable enough for lumber runs.

PM us if you are interested and we can go from there.

They are all still precut, nothing is changing besides the name.

I have a Bedrug and love it. I had one on my Tacoma a decade ago and it survived years of abuse, truck stuff and a lot of camping. Very soft to sleep on when camping in the Tetons and Yellowstone. Very durable to handle literal tons of topsoil, gravel and yard waste without tearing - then able to be cleaned with a power washer and broom without issue.

The only problem with the Bedrug for the lightning is the precuts for the bed cleats, lights and pro power aren’t aligned accurately. You’ll see a lot of videos that show a cleaner way to install if you get one.

The biggest gripe I have about the Bedrug for the Lightning is that cutting out the pro power accurately requires a cut close to the bottom zipper. I unfortunately made a cut too close and it doesn’t look 100% clean. It’s a small gripe, but with my fixation, it’s annoying when I try to plug something in and see the mistake… may try to get another one in the future and just replace it.

I got a BedRug for my 2024 and I found that the cut out templates did not match the Lightning's bed, in spite of the recommended product number.

Can you confirm if there has been an update for potential customers to not have to deal with this issue or will things remain the same?

I think my full coverage bed rug was just a little bit too thin for my knees. I bet the thicker, floor only, bed rug would have been better for me. The bed rug does clean up pretty well for most materials.

I haven't heard any other instances like this on the Lightning but thank you for that information and I am relaying it to the product team!
