A Remarkable EV Motor assembly (Lucid)

The Lucid rear motor assembly is an engineering marvel. The differential is inside the rotor inside the stator. Because it is before the final drives, the differential can be very small. The entire package is compact and not heavy.

This is how American made vehicles can excel through creative engineering. Now, if we can only mass produce at a low cost ..... I sure hope Lucid will produce a mid-size affordable SUV

I recommend this video if you are interested in electric motor design & manufacturing advancements. They believe their motor design can be scaled up for mass manufacture.

I wonder what they did to enable changing the differential fluid without disassembling everything? (I haven’t watched the video yet).
