Been thinking about trying it myself, since I can't seem to get quotes locally.

I hate to say it as I prefer DIY and have dabbled in vinyl before. Unfortunately that’s about the average price for PPF. The hard part about PPF vs regular vinyl is it’s not very easy to manipulate and cut since it needs to either be precut or very very carefully cut on the paint (not recommended) heated to conform
To body lines and around sensors ect. I don’t love it either but you are really paying for the SKILLS of the installer not the cost of material It’s not impossible but not easy.

I've done PPF on headlights and my rear bumper. Headlights are pretty straight forward. The bumper install worked in the end, but it was obvious a pro didn't do it. Both of those were with bulk materials, not pre-cut.
