OK, LED lighting coverage (which does concern me a little) aside, I have a totally different question. I know you can get a pro-rated refund if you sell the vehicle while there's still time/miles left on the ESP. But can you transfer the ESP with the vehicle instead? We'll probably give or sell one of our Mach-Es to our daughter when she finishes college and I'm trying to decide whether to buy the ESP for it while we still own it.

With all of the technology within vehicles these days, do not miss out on a Ford ESP at $25 over dealer cost before the pricing go up next month!

October is coming fast!

From what I understand, the ESP is transferrable.
Also, you can get an ESP for a "new" car inside of 3yr/36k. After that, even if you are the original owner, it's considered a used plan and you have to have it inspected. @Granger Ford can correct me if I have that wrong.

That is incorrect. Once you buy the plan, it's a signed contract for the life of it. The only vehicles that require inspections are if you buy one outside of the original 3/36 btb warranty, that's at the discretion of the company you purchase from. It's similar to a CPO warranty plan, Certified Pre Owned

There is nothing inaccurate about what I provided, according to Granger's website. The question was posed about needing to buy an ESP and if it I is transferable. So baseline, they have a car but no ESP.

Yes, it is transferable.

Over 60k you are not eligible.

Edit: I was wrong about the mileage for a new car designated plan. I'm at 46k so if I want to purchase, I have to get a used car ESP.

Correct, you're outside the 3/36 limit. It's always best to purchase it while it's still under base 3/36. Not my first rodeo with this industry.

You can transfer a vehicle with the ESP intact but you can't transfer an ESP to a different VIN if you get rid of the covered car. For example, when my '22 was bought back Ford paid me for the ESP that was on it and I had to repurchase it for my new Lightning (and it was almost $2K more expensive for less coverage because of the price increases!).
