Anyone using anything to protect charge cable from animals when charging outdoors?

I have not seen anything on the outdoor charge stations near me - whether at shopping centers, car dealerships or parking lots that are not heavily used. I am planning to install my charge station on the exterior of the west side of my house. Fortunately, that side of the house does not get the early morning and mid-day sun.

My Lightning will charge outside at home but not concerned after 4 years charging my wife's car outside.

At work, nothing has "attacked" the charge cables - so they probably put something in the cable coating ?

You are much more likely to get rodents chewing your HV cables in the truck. Freind of mine has had a hybrid and two EVs repaired multiple times (one totaled) due to rats. He never had a problem with the uber insulated charge cable, which may have deterrent chemicals in them like service entrance cables do.

Almost every cable in your truck is made to be yummy to a rat.

I bought a flexible sheath to cover just the charge cord. The rest if hardwired.

Rodents detest the smell of peppermint. A little bit of peppermint essential oil on cotton balls placed around the vehicle should keep them away. As a side benefit, it smells good.
