Driver's door lock button issues

These color handle covers can be switched out, no? It sure seemed so when I had my handle apart once to replace a broken door cable.

Great minds think alike.

I suggested just that to the tech. He could not find a way to disassemble the handle and he didn't want to break it. He took it back to the shop so "his boss" could look at it to see if it the cover can be removed.
