Hi everyone -

Getting ready to swap my snow tires out for the all-seasons that came with my truck.

I would love to (like some people suggested) just mount my snow tires on a second set of wheels so I can swap them myself next season.

For those of you who have done that, is there any problem with the Tire Pressure Management Sensors? Did you buy a separate set of them as well to put in your take-offs? Do the extra sensors have to be calibrated (ie, how does the truck know which sensor is in which position?)

I just went without sensors. After about 20 minutes of driving the tpms warning light comes on. I have done this with winter wheels over the years and there are no driveability issues.

Compatible sensors will just work. It is a valuable safety feature.

Pressure sensors are cheap and available from places like Tire Rack. I put them on the Ford wheels that have my snow tires on. Low priced insurance In my mind.
Just throw them on and drive over 20mph for a bit and they train to the truck. I checked them initially against a gauge and they were spot on.

Is the truck able to automatically detect which sensor is in which position? That's a neat trick I did not expect....
