Since I now got my FCSP installed, I’m starting to think about cable management. I have 2 EV’s that need to share a charging cable (we each charge every other day) and it is mounted in the front of the 36x30 garage between the 2 car bay and the 1 car bay. Here is what my garage looks like:

I’m looking at something like this EV Hover arm that i could mount about 4’ out from the wall and then be able to move it to either side for charging, but I’m not sure it can hold the weight of the FCSP.

Has anyone else seen something like this or possibly know of an alternative? I’m thinking something like those arms that you see in a self wash bay but with the cable mounted to it like the hover arm above.

Thanks for those links, I didn’t even think to look over in the Mach-E Forum.

I’m starting to think I can just mount the cable to the unistrut and then put in one of those tool retractors near the hood midline which would let me pull it to either side easily. The only thing I can’t seem to find is if they make a tool retractor that will lock in place. Otherwise you will always have that tension on the cable and vehicle plug and I wonder if that would be good for it over the long haul.

https://www.google.com/search?q=ev+charging+cable+retractable+reel

Click there and then go to the images search. There are lots of options, but domestically they seem to be priced beyond what I'd pay for cable management. From China via Alibaba they get more reasonable.

Make sure whatever you get is rated for the max amperage you're going to set your charge station to. The longer the cable, the hotter it's going to get.

If you were to make an S pattern with the charge cable on a couple pullies and where one pully travels along a rail, you could use this to have a cheap retractable reel that pulls the cable attached to the moving pully. This guy did it here in his attic.
