Does it have the same protections that a "regular" CC has?

Check the company you plan to use to be certain but I'm pretty sure they all have to abide asper FDIC rules

My main issue with this thing is that I need to check if it's working bc I don't really look at it all that often.

Yes mine was not working when I went to see video after a barrier arm incident at a car wash…
It just does not instill 100% confidence but yet I still use it…. SMH

So far so good on mine (from back in '23). These sorts of things are best purchased through Amazon, and/or with a credit card, so that you have options for returning the thing and/or getting your money back.

I did this on my AMEX but still after the bonus year warranty expired…no help after the extra year passed. I have had my camera over 2 years now…
For sure I would have bought an extra 3-5 year extended warranty if I was buying again... and I’m not normally a buy extended warranty kinda person either lol. Guess I can always buy another camera…
