Maybe we should start stealing their IP!🤣😂🤣
A professor in Economics once reminded me that prior to the Industrial Revolution we stole any IP we could from Europe. Farm equipment, machines, etc. It was only after we had established our own IP base that we started adding IP laws and protections. China did that same thing we did, only decades later. They are now evolving to protecting their own IP, so they are getting to where they won’t need to steal IP anymore. We just need to keep innovating as fast as we can or we will get left behind.

TLDW-too long did not watch:
US auto makers are toast!
Non-China auto makers are toast!

This is an hour long video but very interesting and very scary.

Wow, that’s an eye opening video and worth the time to watch. Here we are waiting and wishing that Ford would just add Tesla chargers to their navigation system… while China is developing 1000Kwh, 5 minute, charging.
thanks for sharing this.

Oh sweet Jesus... just use the Tesla app. This is so unbelievably backburner yet the desire to harp on it.... Clearly the Tesla database (and all the other vendors that are getting into the game i.e. WalMart and all the gas retailers) is changing too quickly for it to be worth it for Ford to play whack-a-mole with updates to the charger sites. Get over it, use the app, navigate like you have an actual brain that you know how to use. Can you add? This is basic arithmetic.

I don't think that's the point. The point is that it's a symptom of the malaise of development coming from the big three. This is really low hanging fruit and they can't even do that. How can anyone expect them to compete with people who are actually pushing the boundaries?

I believe in the future, North American auto makers will be every bit as well respected as Lada, Trabant, Yugo etc. were back when the Soviet bloc was isolated from trade.

Well we know from recent events that Ford walked 350 software engineers. so it's pretty obvious if it was low hanging fruit it could have been done already, but it isn't and there's larger issues that need to be solved and maybe the solution did lie in that personnel turnover.
