From what I can find, they call it "Illuminated Entry" on the Window sticker and my truck has that. Now I am even more confused lol.

Hello all, thanks for the invite. I joined this group because much of the information appears a bit more technical. I came into possession of a lightning main battery but I'm not sure what I'll even do with it.

What do you know about the battery -
1. why was it available (removed from a truck due to failure? )
2. is this battery the 98kW, 120 or 131 ?
3. can you test the voltage - how long has it been idle ?
4. do you have any of the other parts from the original truck -ie the charging system?

Marnin fellow Canadian. I have no other parts. I have a friend who works at scrapyard and he's hooked me up with them. As far as I know they are working fine but they've been out of the truck for 6 months. The one I want to sell is a 2022 ER, 143.4 kwh.

Glad to be approved into this group! I've had a few EVs and plug-in hybrids in the past and decided to trade in the most comfortable car I ever had (2023 Pacifica Plug-in Hybrid Pinnacle) for the full electric truck I now have with Ford. This first week it has worked and felt great. Feels comfortable whether driving in the city area or on the open highway. I wasn't ready to spend $55-$90K on a truck and didn't need the higher range (Tesla Supercharger worked well on it this week) and generally am home every night. So fortunately found a late 2024 build put into service for Ford Corporate folks locally in March, and they only used it for 2-3 months and <3000 miles, so didn't have to spend much after the trade. Official sales price $42K one week ago today! It doesn't have a lot of the XLT upgrades others have, but I don't need those. I'm happy to be driving it now and look forward to a lot of years! Really love that it was only first put in service in March and I essentially have the full bumper to bumper Ford warranty to enjoy.
2024 F-150 Lightening XLT in midnight blue.
Will look forward to everyone's expertise as questions come up. thanks.

Hello all, and thanks to the admin for the add. I'm a big fan of the Ford Lightning and need to get one soon! My name is Jay and I work with a home battery OEM that allows integration of isolated EVPE outputs like from the Ford Lightning to our generator input to augment system/equipment during an islanded/standalone event. I've been asked to stop by and clearly answer some code questions on grounding and bonding and GFCI... please be kind, lol.

Newbie here looking to purchase a Lightning. No towing or long distance road trips; seems like a no brainer! Although I get that towing and long distance road trips can be done. :)

Long road trips definitely can be done, I've driven all over your state (assuming the last best place is MT), and in the northern reaches of Idaho, and eastern WA, and NV, and UT, etc. in my Lightning, just takes a bit of planning (and it's getting better ever month!). It's my favorite road trip vehicle I've ever had.

Yessir, lived there for many years, still go back 4-5 times a year! The forest service roads of the inland northwest are my favorite places to drive my Lightning!

2025 F150 Lightning Platinum - Iconic Silver
Hey all, first post here as I have purchased a 2025 Lightning Platinum in Iconic Silver (and a demo special "new" 2024 Navigator for the wife). I'm not a stranger to forums, back in the day I was on Ranger-Forums when I rocked a 1999 Mazda B4000 with multiple Ranger parts and Mountaineer leather seats. I look forward to sifting through all the content and questions that have been asked!

I have since had a 2012 Jeep Wrangler JKU, a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek, a 2018 F150 Lariat 5.5' with 502A and 3.5L, and most recently a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 6.5' bed with the 6.2L V8.

After calculating the amount of premium fuel I was going through in the Sierra, the interest rate of the Sierra (even with Tier 1), and building maintenance costs on my wife's 2013 Ford Edge that was $free.99, we (er, I) decided it was time to get into two new vehicles. I do travel for work and get reimbursed the federal rate of $0.70/mile, so the Lightning became even more attractive after factoring in reduced maintenance costs. Factoring in 0% financing on both vehicles, free two years maintenance on both, the free home charger, and free home charger install - not to mention I don't need to buy a home generator now - this became a no brainer.

The point I'm trying to make is - if you are a guest here browsing and coming from an ICE vehicle - pull the dang trigger. This truck is awesome.

However, I already miss the GM bed. The sheer amount of storage potential due to the construction of the bed panels is astounding. I am hoping Ford can do something similar in the future. (example, a 5.5' bed GMC/Chevy 1500 bed has more cubic volume than a 6.5' F150 bed). Yes, I know - frunk. But more bed storage volume with a frunk would be even better.

Anyway, I can't wait to drive my rocketship tomorrow ha.
