For the dealerships that offer lifetime warranties on their new vehicles, I wonder if the Lightning will be included in that. And if it is, what all will fall under the powertrain for that lifetime warranty? Would the battery be considered part of the powertrain?

I’ve called multiple dealerships that offer lifetime warranties and all said that the lightning does not qualify as it’s a special vehicle Really lame

* Battery is covered for 8 years or 100,000 miles, whichever comes first, retaining a minimum of 70% of its original capacity over that period.

I can second that. The one I called said it doesn’t count because it doesn’t have a normal power train. Helped me make the decision to switch dealerships a little easier!

So far I've kept my cars about an average of ten years, so when Ford announced that I felt it was adequate. I think I'm going to go the Ford Options route, however, and either turn it back in if its depreciated too much at expiration or payoff and sell/trade if it held value and get a 2nd gen.
