I noticed in my local area, the Ford television ads don't even show a Ford lightning, let alone promoting it. I know our local dealer has stopped carrying them

Ya, occasionally when I see a Ford ad about the F-150, I see a quick glimpse of the lightning front end, But NEVER a mention...

One of the members here wrote a phase awhile back that kinda gets the message across:
"Ya need Bums in Seats"
until they experience it for themselves they have no idea what they are missing.

For myself, I went out of my way to book a test drive in the winter to see how it handled the snow - I was in love with the truck in ten minutes.

Now when a buddy or acquaintance asks about the truck I just say 'get in, it will be easier to show you than tell you'
First impressions are always the same - wow it is so quiet !, WOW this thing is Powerful, WOW you just plug it in when you get home?!!! that's it? !

I agree. I had an F150 that I was very pleased with. When the dealer got a Lightning in, we decided to just go check it out. After a brief check ride, I asked to take it home for the night. Driving it home, I was sold and bought it the next day. No regrets though the lack of experienced service does concern me When I bought the truck, there was no public charging in Abilene TX. Now there is a large Tesla unit and a another a few miles away on I20

I had my 2023 Lighting SR XLT in the local service center for a charge door assembly replacement (warranty repair), and they gave me a brand new 2025 F150 XLT (ICE) as a loaner ($61k sticker price). This gave me the chance to do a head-to-head comparison between the Lightning and the same truck with an ICE.

The loaner was nearly 100% identical to my Lightning inside and out, so it was very easy to just get in and drive. However, I was struck by the relative lack of power, the extra engine noise, the noticeable transmission shifts, and the fairly poor fuel economy while I was driving it (18 mpg overall). I drove it all over town for a day, and when I picked my Lightning back up, I immediately felt incredibly happy to own it compared to the ICE version.

The ICE version was a really nice, solid truck, and it would definitely be much easier to take it on a cross-country trip than my Lightning, but for my use case (daily in-town driver, no more than 120 miles per day), the Lightning was WAY better.

Ok folks . . please don't consider me ignorant . . .but I never test drove any lightning before buying mine outright.
I had looked into them for the year earlier, the Home back up power intrigued me, But my dad years ago had a f-150, and my co-worker had a diesel F-150, and they have been around for AGES, I Just made the Jump, and have NOT regretted the decision since. It's been all and more, of what I thought.
