I just updated the abs module on my 25 Flash. I guess I need to call my dealer and tell them so they can run it thru and clear it from the system.

Funny thing is, it doesn't show up on Ford database as involved in any recalls.

Any word if this can be done with mobile service if just software based?
It's a software update so they should be able to do it in your driveway as I did for my truck.

Has anyone actually gotten this update (as an OTA)?
When I logged into Ford on the website, I was shown this recall for my 2025 Lightning's VIN back on the 15th or 16th; however, it did not appear in FordPass until the 25th.
Still outstanding as of this morning...

You mean a 2025 Lightning right? They didn't make them in 2015. I have a 2025 and it's also showing that recall on my truck.

It's a software update that's going to require a tech to do it either at your place or the dealer, I did the update myself with FDRS.

DoH! LoL... yes 2025... fixed that typo 😆

Damn.. I got to waste time taking it to the Dealership for an OTA software update? That's ridiculous 😒

Shame on you Ford...

I just called the two Ford dealerships near me.

The first I get right to the Service Dept and get a guy that sounds like he is in a bad mood. Tells me they are 2-3 weeks out. The appointment could take 2-3 hours to do the recall. This is a small dealer, I don't think they do a lot of "consumer" vehicles, think mostly the bigger stuff... it's amazed me that they've even managed to stay open.

I then call the bigger dealership where I used to take my F-150 Powerboost. I get routed to a call center to book the appointment. Woman just going through her script and won't vary in her questions. I answer and she keeps asking the same question. 20-minute call later I finally get an appointment for Tuesday morning (09/02), but she tells me it could be 4+ hours or possibly even overnight.

I get that there could be issues during the install/software update, but geesh, 4+ hours (or overnight). They've lost their minds.

Make my appointment, take my truck in at my appointed time, and do the update. If there's an issue, ask me if I want to wait or roll it back and let me decide when to come back.

Updating a module shouldn't take longer than an oil change/rotation/inspection.

** Got the recall notice in the mail just a few minutes after buying the Ford ESP from Granger. If I hadn't read about it here this morning, I would have thought someone/something was watching me.

The update itself took me longer to walk out to the truck and plug in the lap top than actually updating, that went thru in about 15 mins or so but I was also updating 2 other modules so there's that.

Make my appointment, take my truck in at my appointed time, and do the update. If there's an issue, ask me if I want to wait or roll it back and let me decide when to come back.

Problem is, there's likely only 1 tech that knows how to do it or one laptop and he's probably backed up between jobs, in comes the nefarious wait, no way around it.
