As it states, since I ordered my money situation changed. It is built and the dealer is expecting it next week maybe.
When ordered was told could tow behind motorhome, well that is/was not true so spent money on a Jeep gladiator.

London, KY. 86K

I hopefully will have the MCO so the new owner can claim the $7500.

Good luck. But, I think only the first title holder/buyer gets the tax credit. Who knows what the rules will be going forward.

That's right, unless he has a dealer's license and can take delivery without titling it.

He said he hoped to get the MCO (also known as the MSO) from the dealer. That's the Manufacturer's Statement of Origin, or the Manfacturer's Certificate of Origin. It's the document you use to apply for the title and is the first step in the chain of documentation required to title it.

If the dealer will hand the MSO to him, then it can be titled however the applicant wishes.

(I've only ever gotten an MSO handed to me when I bought a golf cart, or purchased a trailer. Dealers have generally refused to give me the MSO, because their policies require filing for title on behalf of their customer. But if you can get it, that'll help, and you'll be the first title held.)

If the $7500 can't be claimed by the buyer, they might be able to claim the credit for buying a used EV if the purchase is delayed until after the new tax bill is signed. The used car fed tax credit is a new thing. I'm not certain about the specifics.

Under that definition they would be a new car dealer and would need a dealer's license, unless KY has an atypical set of laws.

If passed, the used credit would only apply to vehicles with a model year 2 years prior to the year of purchase and would have to be purchased from a dealer. So OP would have to be a dealer and wait until 2024 to sell it for that work.
