When I first got my truck - three years ago this month - the only network that could support my long distance travels was EA. And I've charged at the EA station in Baker MANY times. But as soon as I could, I moved most of my charging activity from EA to Tesla. Last year, I made a 1700+ mile road trip from NW Arkansas to South Florida using Tesla (including a destination charger at a hotel) exclusively.Tesla is my preferred DCFC vendor. I have charged only once at E.A - and that was only because the Tesla SuperCharger next to it was Tesla only (Baker, Calif.).
I have testified (2X) at California Air Resources Board hearings that I believe EA is the worst company in the US and utterly fails at its single job: Charge EVs.
Since I know you live in Southern California, you might find this interesting: I must travel to Las Vegas about once a month for biz, and usually leave from my casita (at my astronomical observatory) near Landers. Rather than go up I-15, I now always cut through the Mojave National Preserve. It is a much more scenic trip, but it comes with a mildly exciting challenge: 151 miles without ANY services, which pushes my SR Pro a bit. Still, if I leave with 100% SOC, I can make it all the way to Vegas without a charge stop.
