I apologize if I missed this issue when searching, but it is driving me nuts and was hoping someone smarter than me might know what I’m missing.

I am not new to this forum, truck or technology. So I should be able to figure this out, but so far I’m stumped.

This started this morning. I have no new updates and have done new with the truck or mods. It didn’t chime when I got in it to take dad to his meeting. However, when I opened the door to begin a self wash, the chime began ringing out like the truck was still running. It was not. It does not display any warning messages. The key was not left in the truck nor was my phone. The chime keeps going off as long as the driver door is left open.

I have opened and closed all doors, drunk and tailgate. No Joy! This for shakes and grins I reset the APIM. No Joy!!

I’m thinking the next step is to reset the truck modules with a battery cable pull. I am trying to avoid that step and was hoping someone had a better Idea.

What's your headline knob set to? Auto? Turn headlight knob to OFF. Close door. Wait a few minutes, open door. No chime?

If so, and your knob was set to Auto, it may be defective and need replacement.

It is set Auto. I’ll give that a shot here shortly.

I checked the battery level and is running at 12.71v so I doubt that is it. I have the truck charging back to 90% so the LVB should be going up from there. It was still sounding when I tried it while the charging HVB. No Joy!

I’ll post the results of your suggestion when I get them. Thanks.

I have tried @RickLightning ’s suggestion and lo and behold it WORKED!

Many Thanks my friend for the suggestion.

No we’ll see if it reoccurs. 🤞

The Mach-E has the same control. There was a defective batch, and Ford replaced them. Same defective ones were used in 2022 Lightnings, but if you haven't had it fail before, maybe it won't again.

My headlight switch has done that before. It has also caused the dash brightness level to pop up on the center cluster as if I had pressed one of the brightness up or down buttons. As mentioned it's a known issue. I haven't bothered taking it in for a replacement since it rarely acts up.
