Need touch up paint. What is the BEST!?

Oh what a joy to hit your own front gate for the first real damage to your lightning. Needless to say I have the "Brown" or Stone Gray Metallic 2022 lightning. Need to touchup the front bumper and also need to touchup some front plastic grill scratches. I'm more concerned about matching up the STONE GRAY METTALIC. I've never had luck with paint touchups on any color vehicle besides white since you can get away with slight differences in white... this on the other hand not so much. I've seen a few Amazon options but want to find someone that may have done this themselves to this exact color or at least had success from a company with their lightning.

I know you can get the exact color from the drivers side door plate and I've heard some people say they like dr color chip (I think that's the name) but I haven't used any yet. Interested to see what people say though, as I dropped my ladder on the side of my truck and have a few scratches from that to get rid of

I always buy a touch up pen from Ford for my vehicles. Or I'll go to a local body shop and let them scan the paint finish so they can make me a small batch for touch up.

Do you generally need top coat/base coats for those pens? I know the metallic colors typically need that clear coat to get that same look.

My truck is Antimatter Blue and I got it second hand with a few scratches. The OEM touch up gizmo is clever and very useful and isn't crazy expensive either.

I haven't needed touch up for my lightning yet, but I know for the Hyundai Tucson I drove previously I just ordered a touch up pen from the dealer. It came with a little abrasive pencil to sand the spot with, and the paint pen was double sided. One side was a paint and clearcoat in 1, and the other side was just clearcoat. I think it was about $50 from my Hundai dealer.

It's never going to be perfect unless sanded down and spot painted/blended to match. It's just something to help appearance, not replace.

It's never going to be perfect unless sanded down and shoot painted, blended to match. It's just something to help appearance, not replace.

Lol @ 'Order Protection'. I've noticed a few vendors trying to tack on a small charge to guarantee that my order arrives intact. Seems like quite the scam to me. If I'm ordering a product from your company, it's your responsibility to get that product to me and in one piece. If it gets lost or damaged in shipping, that's your problem, not mine. Unless I've got a serious problem with porch pirates, there's no situation where that 'protection' fee is benefitting me...

Yeah. It is a joke. The funny party is that browser plugin Honey that runs through discount codes found a 5% off that basically wiped that nonsense. Either way sounds like going to FORD is best choice.

Bought my 2021 Mach-E and 2022 Mach-E (sold 2021 for a profit when 50 weeks later my ordered 2021 came in as a 2022), got paint, got leather conditioner. On 2021, they initially came with one key. GM said "that's ridiculous" and drove back to service with a new key fob, and came back 10 minutes later with the 2nd fob, also free.

And I almost never trade in, because I make more money selling privately. These are simple A-Plan deals.
