New Ford App in Carplay

Looks like there’s a new Ford app in CarPlay. No idea what it’s supposed to do just yet.

It used to be the case when CarPlay took over the whole screen, that “app” would take you back to the onboard OS. Looks like something different is going on here.

Lets hope that it has the ability to search for the nearest charging station from the CarPlay screen and then pass that destination to the maps app of your choice on your phone.

Would be nice if we could search for a destination on the phone and just send it to the truck. Does. It seem like that would be too hard to implement.

That used to work when I got my Mach-E in 2021, but Ford removed the functionality.

The Ford Pass app is much better than the onboard navigation for finding chargers. Not sure when they added the feature but you can now send the selected charge destination to the map app of
your choice.

This is what I need on the CarPlay screen. I don't want to be using my phone while driving.
