I added the Pivot Storage Box to my 2023 Lariat build without really understanding what it is. Now I regret getting it. It's about a $300 to add. I was expecting a "storage" box, but it is really a tool box. Not much storage. And it blocks a bunch of stuff like lighting, bed extender, ramps etc. I may try to sell it :-(.

Yes that one (well same, but on right side. left side is taken for power outlets). I am not saying Ford or anyone mislead. Just that when you are building your order, make sure you understand what it is and you want one. Easy to get carried away in the excitement of ordering. They probably should've called a tool box instead of storage box to make it clear.

I had one these in my Silverado a number of years back and loved it..... so much that I put one on my Lightling order. I agree it's a tool box. Of course my Silverado didn't have a frunk or the side storage of my Avalanche but I like it 'cause it keeps handy tools available, plus can be removed easily if needed.

Storage box vs tool box equals semantics. Both store stuff. I've had these in all my pickups since 2006 Superduty - first thing I add. They pop right out if in the way, but given the lack of cubbies and small storage in back, it's a great place for work gloves, towing receiver, extra hitch balls for those with multiple trailers, tape measure for checking ride height of trailer load, tie-down straps, bungies, spray lube, padlocks for trailers, tow snatch-ropes, rags. If your pickup is used as a real truck, you need this stuff. Now that we have it, couldn't live without. The only question is right, left or both.
