It appears to be a common issue as I had seen a facebook post from a group member on the rear axle seeping. I haven't noticed any symptoms, but since my factory warranty to almost up, I figured I'd take a look and low and behold, my driver's side axle is showing the same:
I took it to the dealership and apparently, the seal is "seeping", but not leaking. It needs to be dripping in order for it to be covered under warranty. The good news is that it would still be covered under the powertrain warranty, so I have another 2 years to keep an eye on it, but I think it's bull that Ford won't replace something that shows signs of failure. Is anyone else in this boat? I'm sort of hoping it starts dripping so that it can be fixed before my powertrain warranty is up.
