As I understand it, the 12v system prioritizes being able to boot/start the truck over everything else, so as it gets weak it sheds loads not involved with that.Interesting that a failing 12v would sleep the module that feeds it before the telemetrics. Outside of remote diagnostics and theft, would there be any other good reasons for that?
The clue that is was a 12v battery or 12v system issue was that starting the truck made the issue go away and when the truck is started the DC-DC converter is supplying the 12v system from the HVB so it is not relying on only the 12v battery alone.
But why the red ring which indicates a fault? Just an indication that the charging could not start without enough juice (12v battery juice) to run the L2 charging I guess?
A bit strange...
