Tailgate not staying closed

Has anyone had the problem of the tailgate closing and then beeping and opening back up again?
I get that it may do that if the key is in the truck but what if its not?

Not sure if you have a tonneau cover. But my experience has been when it beeps and opens is that there is something interfering with the tailgate. Items like tonneau cover has shifted rearward. Rocks, Bark, carpet. If you slam the gate or manually close it the last bit it should overcome the immediate problem. I did see a forum poster mention his cable was interfering with the bottle opener/tiedown. Of course it could also be that the close is set too sensitive. It doesn't take much, they are trying to protect against a finger getting caught between the closing tailgate and the bed.
