Hello y'all,

Just wanted to share with y'all my recent experience with LECTRON adapter I bought last year in August after I bought my new Lightning Platinum (I received Ford adapter just a week ago after 8 month wait... Terrible!).
I have a Tesla membership and I enjoy the experience every time and much lower pricing vs Electrify America.
We usually stop at Bucee's to use Supercharger and it always worked splendidly however not this time.
I pulled up and started charging as usual and went inside Bucee's. Few minutes later I received notification that there was a charger fault and it stopped charging. I went back and changed charger station and I couldn't get it going!.. Did it 3 more times with no success.. Then I did it for the 5th time and it charged for the same 10 kWh as the first time. I kinda started freaking out thinking there was something wrong with my new truck... HOWEVER I decided to go to Electrify America just down the road and I had no trouble charging then! Only my pocket suffered from $.56/kWh price vs $.32 per kWh at Tesla.
Point I'm making is that the LECTRON adapter I paid $250 for FAILED me and I almost got stranded half way from my destination 200 miles away!
I would advise to stay away from LECTRON adapters unless you want give yourself a small heart attack! Lol

I personally stick with known third party vendors like A2Z EV and Lectron.

If you can afford and get your hands on the OEM Tesla adapter that is best possible option.

Stay away from any adapter that is not following the UL standards even though they are not finalized. These companies will continue to update their design if necessary, offer customer service, warranty and stand behind their products by doing product recalls even if it comes at a big cost.

You can buy the original Tesla OEM adapter from Rivian for $250 with free shipping BUT NO RETURNS ALLOWED. You can get the A2Z Typhoon Pro adapter on flash sale for $162 shipped after "FORD" coupon code

A2Z EV NACS to CCS1 Adapter for Ford - Save 5% / Free Shipping + bundle the A2Z Stellar AC NACS to J-1772 adapter for $91 additional after discount code "FORD".

A2Z EV - Stellar AC L2 destination adapter

A2ZEV NACS To J1772 adapter (Hotel Destination Charger for Hotels / Shopping centers) | Up to 80A | 20kW | 12 Months Warranty

I personally keep both the OEM Tesla adapter and A2Z Stellar AC / Typhoon Pro DCFC adapter to have myself covered at all times. I also keep the AC level 2 adapter as well to charge overnight at hotels.

This ensures I have a backup always and I can charge at Tesla Destination chargers commonly found at hotels / shopping center / parking lots.

The level 2 Stellar adapter will pay for it self overtime by avoiding an expensive fast charge on the road every night while you sleep at the hotel with Tesla destination charging.

You can use the same Tesla Find Us link to locate Tesla Level 2 destination chargers.

Tesla Find Us Superchargers available with adapter / Magicdock location Chargers

New orders: Current estimate for A2Z is shipping will take 1 - 2 weeks for the new Typhoon Pro adapter. Still in time for Spring Break travel plans.

Discount promo code “FORD” is still working and free shipping is also available.

My experience using the Lectron adapter at a Tesla supercharger was positive. Perhaps it was a problem at the time of your post, but I think most people are having good success with it now, based on most recent discussions in the form. I like the one user that replied that he had two different adapters just in case one had a problem, Therefore, he is never stranded. I elected to spend the higher amount of money for the brand Lectron so as not to take any chance on inferior quality leading to a problem with the adapter, after Lectron was recommended by the Ford dealer, I bought the truck from. I figured for regular level two charging at Tesla destination chargers, or friends that have a Tesla charger, the offbrand cheaper version would be better for that and it works fine.

My Lectron with Ford branding has been limiting current because it gets too hot. The A2ZEV adapter has worked fantastically.

I suspect also that there is a lot of conjecture and assumption in your original post - as there can be many varied 'reasons' why a charge session might not go as planned...

- 'communications' between the two entities: Tesla, in this case, and the vehicle
- issues on the Tesla end, software, etc.
- issues on the truck end, software, etc
- a Tesla NACS head not seated fully
- the Adapter not seated fully into the vehicles' CCS port
- excessive pressure on the cable
- your 'Tesla account', if you used it to activate the session, etc.
- heat

our LIGHTNING and our EV9 both use Superchargers almost exclusively, like today... and both use either our Lectron, or the Ford adapter, and neither have ever had any issues in many, many times of charging, over many, many THOUSANDS of travel miles...

we've had WAY more issues charging with CCS units, than anything ever with Superchargers, and adapters...
