Ford is probably right that folks don't want premium electric trucks, they want affordable ones. So: iron-sodium batteries, or whatever keeps us out of lithium.
CATL and BYD are moving toward sodium batteries so you know it will be coming to Ford near you as well.

Just for interest sake:
I have two sodium batteries I use with mobile power inverter set ups.
One is based on 12v sodium pack, and the other is 24volt.
They are heavier than lithium packs, but tolerate cold and heat a lot better.
The main issue with sodium cells is the voltage range is a lot wider per cell than most other battery chemistry, takes special inverters and motors to tolerate the wider voltage range as the battery pack runs up and down it's Soc.

It looks like Chinese are using Hybrid packs (Sodium + Lithium/LFP) to minimize downsides of each.
