Just lost half the power in my Lightning for no apparent reason. Truck was just charged up to 90%, but my power meter on the left of the gauge cluster was limited to 51% power. And it’s not just a screen glitch as I lost half the power in the pedal too. My rocket ship was now a Prius. So very slow. After I turned the truck on and off, the power returned. What the hell happened? Never populated a warning on the dash. I’m bringing it to the dealer to see if they can find a code or something. Anyone else have this happen?

Yes this happened to me.

Turn off the truck completely and then turn it back on. It should go away. Hasn’t happened to me since. This was after the update.

The great thing about these computers on wheels is that usually a reset will fix whatever the issue is without taking it to the dealer. If you have dash warnings though definitely take it to the dealer.

Yeah, no dash warnings. Yours also went down to 51?

You don't have to stop at the dealer to get the code. They can look you up by VIN. The codes get uploaded to the mothership and are documented by date and time. They can log into their dealer system and tell you if you had a code set or not and what it was.

Is this normal?

Can you clarify what update you are referring to?

Hi there. I'd like to take a closer look at your Lightning's loss of power. To get started, can you please send over a private message with your VIN and the name/location of your local Ford dealer?

2022 Lightning (Ordered 6/19, delivered 10/28/22)
This is normal from a combination of cold and lower state of charge (% battery).
FWIW here in cold and snowy upstate NY mine starts dropping slowly at 45-50% battery capacity.

First to 90% power, then down to around 80-85% power at ~30% battery.

I've not taken the battery below 25% this winter so I don't know how much further or farther it drops.

I assume its nothing wrong..just cold temps and low(er) battery level...

FWIW 94% power seems to be normal for cold temp/low battery state conditions.(although 52 doesn't seem that cold to me).

50% loss at >50% state of charge seen by the OP seems excessive.. probably just a glitch if it reset after on/off cycle.

(Mine slowly and progressively drops until I charge it up again. It will not "reset" with a simple on/off)

I'm seeing the same at 30f in Chicago. Saw 95 then 90 then 85 as the battery dropped to like 50 to 30%. My polaris ranger does a similar thing and shudders when I floor it when cold vs when its warm out. I figured it's just physics.

A 50% drop at 90% battery seems off though.
