Great summary of towing. I haven’t towed a camper yet with my MY22 Lariat, but this makes it se easier to plan and execute

I cover planning, real world efficiency, campground charging etc...

Trailer:
Forest River Grey Wolf 29TE travel trailer (approximately 7500 pounds)

Thanks Joe. Great contribution to our knowledge. Even if your Mom does love you, you have to have all the details correct prior to undertaking the math. An extended battery rated at 132 kWh does not make the full 132 available to you. I don't have all the details available to be at this moment (travelling) but I recall seeing on this forum in the past, that you will only have about 112 kWh available. That is why you really do need to charge to 100% on these occasions. I find speed and hills are the two biggest users of battery charge. I try to plan my routes around the hills. I find my 2023 Lightning calculations of battery percentage and expected range has improved over time and currently quite accurate and repeatable.

So I'm calculating you have a general range of 90-100 miles between charges with your tow. Is that accurate?

Thats what I plan for. I can go about 130 miles in between charges but Its rare that you find a charge at that exact distance.

The extended range Lightning Flash has a battery size of 143kwh total. The usable portion of that battery is 131kwh. That's what i based my math off of.
Not entirely accurate. 2025 Job 2 Flash has a 134.5 kWh battery, 123 kWh usable.

I just made a reservation for an Evotrex-PG5 electric powered trailer. If they can deliver what they are promising towing with an electric F-150 will be a non-issue. 🤞

www.EVOTREX.com if you’re interested in the details. Be aware the price isn’t for the faint of heart.

That thing looks amazing. For me, I dont camp enough to justify spending that much on a camper.

My wife and I are considering selling one of two properties we own and hitting the road to see the country. We are in the twilight of our years and if we are going to see it we need to get started.

I towed basically this exact trailer length(35') and weight(7,600lbs) with my '22 PRO SR Max Tow 98kwh Battery pack back in late December, towing it 203 miles from the dealer to my Son's property.
While mostly flattish from Buford GA across the state and into Alabama, to north of Huntsville, there ARE a few substantial terrain changes, specifically coming down to the Tennessee River, and/or up from it... I averaged, with a conservative speed, 1.2mi/KWH, during the journey.

More importantly, and without any need for any additional towing hardware, I hardly knew the trailer was behind me. If you use Tow/Haul MODE, you'll have some Regeneration assistance, although you might also use SPORT Mode, for even more, if you wish... either way, it's a dream to tow a trailer or camper.

I then towed, in the REVERSE direction, his 'old' trailer, as a trade-in back to the dealer... although a shorter camper, with slightly less weight. I averaged a similar rate on the return, in good weather, with little wind or other conditions, for 203 miles. The weight and length is not really as much of a towing issue, as the aero(front height and squareness of the trailer type) is for the headwind.

I also recently towed my V-Nose enclosed utility trailer, 12-13', loaded at probably 3,000lbs, over to our new place, 75 miles. I averaged, at speed, 1.7mi/KWH.
I averaged on the return, unloaded, 1.8mi/KWH, at probably 1800lbs.
It's more about the aero versus the weight.

and, YES, to your point, planning a towing trip is important, and you can't just 'assume' to use the full 100% of the battery before you need to charge - God has not yet provided us a DCFastCharger at the last mile of our range... yet. Sometimes your best option might be at 75 miles, leaving you to charge up to 80% for your next leg, which, may also not have an option near your distance, either. It's all about planning, and, mainly, probably stopping more often versus trying to 'stretch it out' to the next one. The pucker effect does not make for pleasurable driving experiences.

I was blessed to have many options along my 203 miles route, but that's after coming from EV charging route planning over many years, and with 75 mile range Nissan LEAFS for several years in the early times. We are blessed now to have so many options, closer, and faster.
