Features Activation Pending in FordPass

I have had my truck for 2 week now and some of my features in the Ford Pass app under connected services say "Activation Pending". I found out that the sale has to be finalized at the dealer level to get these features unlocked.

I spoke to dealer and they said to come in for an update that would take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours!!! I was told Blue Cruise takes the most time to update.

Anyone have any experience with this sort of update? Does it really take up to 8 hours at the dealership?

Did they skip the PDI steps?
IIRC they are supposed to verify certain updates have posted

I cant say for sure if they conducted the PDI, truck was a cancelled order that I went and purchased on the lot. I was able to receive my free 250kwh of charging, but all other features are disabled on connected services. I hope this is a one and done update at the dealer, was just looking for some insight from someone who has had this done.

@TaxmanHog Quick update. Dealer just called me, they are at a stand still with my truck. They are telling me there are no updates available for my truck therefore my Connected Services features (Blue Cruise, Alexa, Ford Streaming and Navigation) all still say "Activation Pending" and they are not sure what to do to activate it. Any help or guidance that I can relay to the dealer would be so appreciated! They have my truck and had no loaners available so I am basically stranded until they figure it out. TYIA

Any help or guidance that I can relay to the dealer would be so appreciated! They have my truck and had no loaners available so I am basically stranded until they figure it out. TYIA
They should walk over the sales & finance office or talk to the girls (guys) in the back office who process the order & sale in the FORD systems, they have not clicked all the right buttons to make this a SOLD truck in the Ford database IMHO

Update:

Everything seems to work now. granted I still havent picked up the truck but the service manager called me this morning say he update the APIM, Gateway and something else, but I still saw the same problem on my end.

I recommended we try the Ford Pass Connect Reset on the Sync screen. As soon as we did that, I received emails and notifications about Alexa, Hands Free Driving, etc.

Just want to thank everyone for their help, the forum is a great place!

Update #2: drove truck home, still no Hands Free driving, was told by the OTA team to drive for 30 minutes, leave truck off connected to wifi and come back in 5 minutes and it should have update. Well no update and now wondering what to do

@TaxmanHog I saw you had a similar issue with receiving updates. how did you end up making it work? 12v battery?

Update 3: Ford keeps mentioning my “Warranty Start Date” is blank, now the dealer wants me to bring the truck back after it was there for 2 days.

Disconnected the main connections at the negative then positive terminals on the battery, left it off for 5 minutes, while it was off I cleaned the terminals then reconnected + then -.

After doing this you need to manually close the frunk, should work normally afterward.

After doing this I tried an immediate update, but that failed, so I scheduled a early morning (5am) automatic update, which posted last Sunday morning.

As an aside, are you able to remote start, lock unlock through the app while out of blue tooth range, if so then the AT&T integrated telematics are working, and I would assume additional updates and any user/drive rights data should reach the truck

It has been escalated to Ford's Engineering Team, they are supposedly forcing an update to my truck at 10pm. Fingers crossed

Just disconnected battery and cleaned off the terminals and finished with some air to eliminate any dust. Ill try the immediate update, if that doesnt work Ill schedule and update for later tonight and see if it takes in the morning.

I cycled the ignition 10 times this morning as per Ford waiting 2 minutes between each cycle. I give up consumed way to much of my time I appreciate everyone’s help. My hands will be on the wheel for now ??

Sounds like the sales dept didn't lock the deal into SmartVincent and report it as sold. With the "no warranty start date" and Ford Pass services not activated this seems the most likely scenario.
