Well yesterday waiting for the family and friends to head over for the cookout, i was looking into the center speaker of my truck, since i recently found that my door speakers were installed in a botched hack job with the wrong size speakers and sheet metal screwed to the door poorly, figured i better check out the center speaker also...

Turns out it was replaced also, but its actually the correct size from what i can tell. Is this the correct speaker? or is it wrong also. Its actually one of the better brands ive heard about in audio. I just don't know audio stuff enough to know if its a good speaker or not.

Speaker installed is: JL Audio CF-350mt

From what i understand its a 4ohm speaker, because i can't seem to find an 8 ohm variant. I am under the impression the factory center mount speaker was 8ohm.

Do i need to replace this speaker also or is their a way to reduce its overpowering since it seems to be a high quality speaker replacement.

B&O center is 8ohm. You can just unplug it if you want, which is what many people do. If you want to keep the speaker you could probably wire in a 4ohm resistor, but I haven't tried that myself. There are 8ohm speakers you can find like the Dayton Audio PS95-8 3-1/2. However, it doesn't have the factory mount holes on it and will require some additional work to mount it.

I know the Alpine Component set i am leaning on buying has a crossover that allows dropping the dB output, curious if they have one for Mids.. that could adjust it down in power.

A midrange crossover? Steve's suggestion of a 4Ω resistor (with a suitable power rating and in a reasonably well ventilated location) will probably give you a good solution. I'm not enough of an audio expert to supply all the design details, but someone else on this forum probably is.
