At 64K miles, a cell leaked/failed in my 2023 Pro's battery pack. The dealership is replacing the module under the extended battery warranty. Cool.

However, it is likely to take a week to get the parts. The Lightning is my primary transportation, so I've rented a car.

Does anyone know what the Ford policy is on providing a loaner or other accommodation for a repair being done under warranty like this?

Side notes: The truck failed "gracefully" - while it threw out a lot of fault codes, and wouldn't let me charge it, it did let me drive it for a couple days under reduced power. That is a hard thing to engineer. Good on Ford.

Generally something like $60 a day for truck owners to rent a Ford vehicle. Call customer relations for exact details. But you should talk to your dealer as they may have a loaner for you

I always ask for a loaner. If I don't ask, the result is an automatic "no". I get a loaner more times than not. If not, I have the rental option (a hassle since it is from someone other than the dealership) from my extended warranty.

Thanks all for the feedback. The rental car I snagged from a nearby Enterprise location is just $36 (+fees/taxes), so I am going to stick with it. Hopefully, I'll be back in my Lightning by the end of next week. If not, I might ask for some kind of accommodation from the dealer.

Note about the rental car: I got a Toyota Corolla. After years of driving the Lightning in 1-pedal mode (and insisting on EVs when renting on trips), the 2-pedal gas driving experience absolutely sucks. I'm having to constantly remind myself to use the brake to slow and hold at a stop. So primitive!
