Went to full-snow mode due to Snowmaggedon. The truck is so heavy, I changed the tires in the street. First jack did t work- had to use my back-up.

Any cause for concern? Sucks as it is a 24 Flash with only 6,000.

Anyone doing a tire change on this beast should look into this tire roller- not cheap but makes lining up the studs to the wheel super easy

I change my all-season and Winter tires myself as well.

The trick I've found to line up the wheel studs to the heavy wheel is to lower the jack height just enough so that the heavy wheel barely touches the ground, and then to rotate it onto the top wheel stud, while its weight is supported in part by Mother Earth. After a one-time practice, this technique works like a charm.

I also continue to use the OEM jack, including through several roadside punctured tire wheel changes. I do carry a short foot-long section of a 2 x 8 in the bed to use as a wider jack platform on unstable gravelly or sandy or muddy surfaces. The OEM jack has worked fine for me through seasonal and occasional damaged tire wheel changes.

I wouldn’t worry about it. If you look at your axle shafts, they look about the same.
Good to know. Weird it is only on 2 of the 4 wheel studs. When it get nice outside, I will then clean them up a bit.

Milwaukee M18. Total overkill for a homeowner- but when you use it at work, kinda hard not to splurge.

That light gets incredible battery life.

M18 Tripod Light

When I bought it, got it for $150:bandit:

Re: Excessive Rust on Axle threads/nut . . I'd just smear a lil grease into it and call it a day. You may NEVER have to worry about it in the future.

Do the stock tires spin freely on the rollers? The description on the site states that the rollers may not work with larger sized tires.

Yeah, the factory tire spins on the accessory plate. Not like Wheel of Fortune speed- but freely spins.

The factory tire is a lil heavy so I use my knee to apply leverage to the tool & keep 2 hands on the wheel.

You have to make sure your jack can lift the tire enough to slip it under. Buying the accessory plate is well worth it. I will be buying a second complete kit to permanently mount in the truck.

I think the fact you had to use two jacks is a safety consideration. Less likely to see your truck on the side of the road with all 4 wheels stolen - the thieves wouldn't be able to jack the dang thing up!
