I had Ford Mobile service come out and do the Trailer Light software recall last week in my driveway.

Tonight i went to pick up my Enclosed trailer from new house and after hooking it up to the truck I found that running lights, trailer interior light and parking lights don't work. The only lights that work when testing was wither turn signal and both brake lights when running through the trailer test routine with the phone App. Being that it was dark outside now, I had to leave the trailer behind since the tail lights and running lights were not working.

The truck sensed that the 4-wire trailer plug was connected and I selected the default trailer. Does anyone know what signal line that ford uses to sense connection?

Tomorrow I will go and pick it up with my Tesla during daylight hours. I'll also bring a trailer test setup to isolate the truck and trailer as a fault.

UGH!!!

Update,

I bought a simple trailer wire test light kit for the 4-wire setup. Power to the running lights from truck to trailer is missing. Power to left & Rt flashers and brake lights function fine using trailer test on the Ford App. So the issue is on the truck side, not my trailer.

I called the dealer service dept at 5 pm. The receptionist left a message for mobile service team to call me in the morning since they were already gone for the day.

UPDATE #2

The dealer sent out a Master Tech mobile service. He used my test light kit for aid in troubleshooting. After about 30 minutes of troubleshooting he diagnosed a blown fuse in the truck. He drove back to the shop and picked up an handfull the new mini style fuses and got the trailer running lights working, He left me 4 spare fuses.

He suspected that doing the software update that for some reason blew the fuse?

All is good now. We towed several times in the last 2 days with no issues.
