ESP claim denial with tail light water intrusion (blind spot failure)

Has anyone had any success getting ford ESP premiumcare coverage to pay on water in a light fixture with the added light coverage after a denial? No damage to the driver side tail light. After a Florida downpour it started throwing BSM failures. Lights still work but I imagine radar module is fried.

dealership wants $4,200 for repair on my ’24 flash

As I understand it I can:
1. Relieve myself of an additional 8% of the total cost of the truck in cash to replace it?
2. Insurance claim (not sure how my rates would increase)
3. Fix it myself (which I can do with the help of the forum)

If I go DIY are there any best practices? Can I replace just the module? Getting the truck back today and will take the tail light out to inspect it more closely.

Sorry we’re in the same boat! Would reaching out to ford customer service help? The service desk at my dealership said she was going to do some digging in the contract to see if there was anything she could do.

Would say it's worth doing a legal consultation, but there is probably a abitration clause where you get screwed. sounding increasingly like ESP is basically worthless, just free money for Ford.

Ok I called Ford EV And spoke to a representative and told me if Ford denies the claim you are s___ of luck. Found one Ebay for 470. Sorry but Ford quoted me 2,800. Next ev will not be a
Ford.

That was where I told my wife this would end up. As she picked me up from the service department I told her I was going to be out $300 bucks for nothing. But jokes on her, I’m only out $149.99 for the diagnostic fee!

100 percent agree! If it’s not damage, then it’s water intrusion. They’ll find a reason.

let me make sure i understand. They denied the claim. Is the issue aesthetic only or is there function loss with radar etc? Are the bsm failure codes continuing or was just at initial incident?

And the dealership charged you diagnostic fee for processing the claim that got rejected?

There is some truth to this, but it's also true that they deliberately make it increasingly harder to fix than it has to be, also holding back technical information on how things work, and how to fix them, teing parts together unnecessarily, in an effort to restrict options. In essence, creat a monopoly for themselves and their dealers to extract as much as possible from the end user. They are following the John Deer model of business. And MANY MANY other companies.

Water intrusion, automatic disqualification, as it’s buried someplace in the contract…. Even with no damage seen from the mechanic.

yeah, right to repair…. I’m just old enough to remember when you could still wrench on things you “owned.”
