After nearly a year of ownership, I am still very in love with the truck, but there are a lot we don´t have. And for $100.000+ we should. All 1000 trucks are identical 2023 Lariats, SR.

- No OTAs
- No updates from FORD, stuck on 2023 software, 640 22326
- No 175 kW charging
- No BlueCruise
- No WAL
- Max payload of 535 kg, 1179 lb
- Max towing capacity with the max tow package of 3500 kg, 7716 lb
- No charge speed overview
- No frunk power outlets
- No diff lock in Normal mode
- No new features in the app

UPDATE: We got the 8 year warranty for the HV components as well.

Man, I am sorry that it sounds like Ford hasn't even given you the level of support we've gotten stateside (which is imperfect but at least there is some)

I wonder if you could hack it with ForScan and update with a file grab off the web?

I think they'd have to map your country's roads to give you BlueCruise, and they still only have a fraction of roads in the US so this one's not that surprising... also weird that they neutered out features like the frunk outlets, is it because your outlet plug is a different shape from US-spec and they didn't want to reengineer the panel for 1000 trucks? (which is still a lot!)...

I wonder if these are things your government/laws forced or if Ford made these decisions... either way, thanks for sharing your experience with Lightning in another country!

BlueCruise is available for the MME and the side imported US Lightnings in Norway. The side imported trucks get OTAs as well.

The outlets in the cab is 230 V but US plug style, so a passive adapter is needed. Maybe the usb ports in the frunk didn’t support 230 v?

I’m not sure lack of OTA is a bad thing…

I would get the comma four and not worry about blue cruise. I would do the updates manually. You could group buy the equipment.

The ,4 is tempting :)

No updates are available as Ford Germany switched some modules and even FDRS will not update the truck.

- No OTAs
This is actually a problem, the dealers must be able to update then.
- No updates from FORD, stuck on 2023 software, 640 22326
Dealer?
- No 175 kW charging
It really doesn't make a difference, the curve only peaks there.
- No BlueCruise
I guess the options weren't installed if other vehicles there can
- No WAL
You're not missing anything, it's more of an annoyance, I don't use it but my truck wasn't delivered with it either.
- Max payload of 535 kg, 1179 lb
Where did you get this number?
- Max towing capacity with the max tow package of 3500 kg, 7716 lb
That's the max for all SR trucks it's only 5000lbs if you don't have max tow.
- No charge speed overview
Not a feature on my 23 either
- No frunk power outlets
Unfortunate but that should have been laid out in the options at purchase.
- Only 5 year power train / battery warranty
How many km's do you get?
- No diff lock in Normal mode
Is that a thing? I don't think that my truck is capable of it, Why would you need diff lock outside of off-road mode?

Dealer?
:: Nope, no updates available through FDRS either, according to dealer.

- No BlueCruise
I guess the options weren't installed if other vehicles there can.
:: It is disabled, we got all the hw.

- Max payload of 535 kg, 1179 lb
Where did you get this number?
:: The registration slip

- No frunk power outlets
Unfortunate but that should have been laid out in the options at purchase.
:: No options available, all 1000 trucks are identical, modified, 2023 Lariat SR, all in the same color. The power outlets are removed in the eu-conversion process.

- Only 5 year power train / battery warranty
How many km's do you get?
:: 100.000 km

Yes, that is a shame. This is an example of why China is going to beat the pants off US EV makers if someone doesn't get a clue soon.

What about FORscan tweaks for some things?

And Is there nobody who has figured out the module changes made to it to sell in Norway/Germany yet and how to use FDRS to update what could be updated?

Even with the limitations, you still love it...even here in the US we encounter problems and limitations.
Sometimes the OTAs cause new problems.

Ford seems to have been in a rush to beat the Tesla Cybertruck to market.
We inherited some of the problems in the ICE F-150s like water leaks and shifter problems, 12v battery issues, among others.

So I think we all agree, the Lightning is not perfect even here in the US, but most of us love them anyway.

Especially now with the high gasoline prices that look like they will persist well into 2027.
