With the cancelation of the Lightning, I wouldn't hold your breath. I think we are stuck with what we have... I don't think they will go though the trouble to update us with something this cool.

I still have hope! I believe we are still part of a test group for Ford and what they’re building for future models.
I wish I had your optimism... I agree, if you were a smart company, using this group as a test bed for future models would be exactly how you would handle things. The 100k+ that bought this truck are what I consider the ideal customers for this. Ones that embrace change, have vision and take chances to help propel the industry forward. The community here is also second to none and give back valuable feedback to Ford if they chose to listen, understand, implement and test. Unfortunately, the bean counters, shareholders and CEO (the ones that call the shots) have no clue about any of what I just said. "The Lightning is cancelled and dead... don't waste money on it" is my guess on how things will go from here on out. Hopefully I am wrong and you're right. We recently got a pro power with truck off update that I thought would never come so maybe I am just too negative.

Well put. It can definitely be easy for any of us to feel a little lost in the shuffle with our Lightnings. But we’ve continued to get updates and our friend @Ford Motor Company has not forsaken us :)

I’ve also felt frustration, because I feel like we’re driving the best vehicles Ford has ever made. I have so much pride in this thing. To just give up so quickly. But, saying that. I think we have something special here and I’m sticking around for whatever does or doesn’t happen. Saying that though, I hope things continue to happen! 😛

Trust me. You don’t want a vehicle that requires the Pulse. We have a Fisker Ocean and a F150 Lightning.

While we love our Fisker I would never wish the experience on anyone. Lots of quirks and issues that will never be fixed. So much so it makes it so we really don’t feel comfortable road tripping in it. It’s strictly an around town vehicle.

When I was doing some testing of the PPOB for Ford last month and giving them email feedback, I mentioned all the issues that arise when the 12v battery gets weak, including the PPOB shutting down before reaching the reserve.

They did not reply directly to the 12v issue, but at least the team working on PPOB issues has been informed.

The 12v battery issue goes back to before the Lightning in ICE F-150s from what I have seen on line.

With the new EV truck coming next year, I hope they don't continue this legacy issue (or any of the others, like the shifter problem, the leaking problems, etc.). :)

Haha I don’t want Pulse (at the moment), I DO want 12v battery info on my Lightning.

I am considering a stupid deal Ocean though. I know the problems. But I also know someone who has one and loves theirs.

But yeah. 12v info! lol

We have been very lucky to have not had any major issues, but lots of folks have.

We have dumped a lot of money into it to keep it running so we are keeping it till it stops working. I would guess we have spent 5-6k since Fisker went bankrupt.

New 12v Battery
2.2 OS Update
Waterproofing Connectors
Tbox Reset Switch
Break Pedal Cover
Gen2A Door Handles
Rear Escape Emergency Pull
12v Battery Maintainer
Hood Struts
Pulse Device

Thanks for the info! Definitely prepared for a few things! But for the crazy cost they’re going for, even after doing them, still a stupid deal!

I figured why not have two orphaned vehicles in the family 🤣

It’s such a small but dedicated community, which I like. It gives me hope for our much bigger Lightning family, down the road.

It's one thing to buy an orphaned model from a functioning brand. It's a whole other thing to buy a model from a company that no longer exists.

It is definitely a project vehicle. I would never recommend it as a households only or primary vehicle.

Soon Lucid will be in the same boat. No support or repairs.

I hope you're wrong about Lucid, but I suspect you're not.
