Ford may be prepping the public for a pickup that doesn't look like today's Lightning by explaining how it is so much better and cheaper they are to produce.
Also perhaps a 80+ kWh battery too?
Glad you are OK, that was a serious accident involving a beautiful Lightning. Can you provide any additional information on which cables were cut and where?
Wishing you good luck.
I have the following, as part of the NHTSA Report on Battery Fires dated 28 Feb 2025:
Ford Recall 25S18 Chronology includes:
"On January 3, 2025, Ford received a fourth report of a fire involving a 2022 model year Ford F 150 BEV. On January 10, 2025, Ford Engineering received a battery array...
OK, perhaps FORD will take care of at least some of your rental car expense, but the dealer needs 3 months to replace a module?
IF it does take 3 months, and IF the dealer isn't a EV hater, than FORD must have serious supply issues I am unaware of .... ??
Wow, your getting treated terrible by the Dealer! When you say Ford Customer and Roadside folks didn't help, were you going thru the BEV team?
What has the BEV folks told you?
I have detailed records of 2 years of history and 60-70 kWh are the upper limits of our daily 240v charging at home; and often much less per day. So far in 2025 we gone 10,800 miles; charged the equal to 60.6 full 100% cycles or 5,818 kWh involving 1,884 kWh DC and 3,934 kWh AC. I generally...
Others have personal experiences, I have only studied our own situation. We intend to own our house about 10 more years due to our age. Our electric rate is about $0.12/kWh. Projected studies make it unlikely to be a good decision for us.
As your costs are 3 times that, if you plan on...
Our Lightning doesn't have double chargers, so it isn't worth the trouble to plug-in to a 240 v charger with our Pro unless it is "free" or we are going to be parked there for 2+ hours.
I agree the letter is a perfect example of poor customer interaction. When I read about the program I assumed they would give more clarity to the 300 customers, and probably some incentive.
Ford may now have some concern that the previous recalls of bad modules caught all of them and yours...
They want to dissect 300 specific modules out of perhaps 100,000 that have been purchased.
It seems to me before the customer goes in for service the dealer should be all prepared for the replacement based on the VIN, and the owner's name, thus a couple of days.
Disappointing that 25H02...
I didn't see the ball issue, but I did see that area as a place for my tire "socks". Since tire chains are discouraged from use, I bought tire "socks", and the "socks" package slid mostly under the driver's seat blocking access to almost anything else there.
This was my 17th update. I do not have to do anything special to receive them. I do have a SR Pro and I have much fewer things to be updated ... :ROFLMAO:
The FoMoCo navigation is terrible. It seems all USA technology in EVs have a long ways to go to match the Chinese. See what Farley said about it recently:
