Got the letter. They want to harvest critical components from my fully functional vehicle to “build a community of happy, satisfied customers”.

They might as well asked for my left nut to examine the virility of a sampling of Lightning buyers.

I’m offended by the lack of transparency here. Confidence eroded @Ford Motor Company.

Sounds like nothing Ford did would make you happy... They could just do nothing and you would be none the wiser...

Correct - I would have rather not gotten any letter than one saying they’d like to pick my vehicle apart with no clarity on whether there is or even might be an issue with it. Now I have to decide if I am going to be inconvenienced so they can potentially screw up my vehicle when it might be perfectly fine.

Try putting yourself in other people’s shoes if you didn’t get the letter.

I agree the letter is a perfect example of poor customer interaction. When I read about the program I assumed they would give more clarity to the 300 customers, and probably some incentive.

Ford may now have some concern that the previous recalls of bad modules caught all of them and yours are near or on the edges of the previous lists??? Who knows, but should have told you if that is the concern and clearly offered all of the information about loaners and such.

Or try putting yourself in other people's shoes... Namely Ford. They obviously have a potential issue that they need more information to fully understand. Your battery helps them decide the next course of action. For your inconvenience, they are replacing used and worn parts with brand new parts at no charge.

Wrong - they are being cagey about whether my own vehicle might have an equipment issue or not.

It is debatable if replacing select modules and not the whole pack is any kind of reward for being a parts (drivetrain parts) donor. It seems only takes one sensor or software update to not like the “mismatch” and my good deeds becomes an ongoing disaster. In the best case scenario, it’s likely any new capacity in a replacement module isn’t going to be accessible due to the current limits of the remaining cells/modules in the pack.

I suggest others with the letter NOT perform this work unless @Ford Motor Company does a full pack replacement or provides way more clarity on why this repair (repair is Ford’s language in letter) is being “provided” and “covered”.

Note: The word “offer” is not found in the letter, which is very deceiving if that is all this is.

I won't get the letter, have a 25 but if I had, I would be extremely hesitant unless I was actually having a problem. I'm an old school tech that lives by the motto "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"

Being a guinea pig with a $70k+ machine is not on my todo list.

battery module replacement services can take multiple days/I don't think there are vehicle loaners available at my nearby dealers.
The time in the shop and their limits on rental reimbursement is a problem.
I am in for 25S18 HV Battery Electrode Misalignment and they have had the truck since 7-9-25 and have no eta of when the 3 modules will be arriving and when their tech will install them.
Then even though they say "Your dealer is authorized to provide a rental vehicle for your personal transportation at no charge (except for fuel and insurance) while your vehicle is at the dealership for repairs. Please see your dealer for guidelines and limitations." ... they put a limit of $40/day on the rental which does not even cover a sub-compact car. And I am still on the initial warranty. The dealer also has to beg some Ford entity for a rental past 3 days. Their 4 Mazda loaner vehicles are out with other customers. The rental is only allowed via Enterprise, so now I have a Hyundai Elantra...not even a Ford! @Ford Motor Company is really stupid and their karma will lose them customers. I doubt I will be buying again from Ford and the weak dealer system.

Fair, edited my post.

But to expect only recall owners to be able to post in this thread is unrealistic. A forum is a public discussion place. I believe the user in questions position to also be unrealistic. Ford isn't in the charity business. Replacing parts related to the issue only is realistic. A full pack isn't necessary here even if this user believes it is.

Has nothing to do with any charity, has everything to do with monkeying around with a $70k+ machine just so they can improve or not, future trucks. Ford needs to either replace the entire pack or leave it alone. I didn't spend that kind of money to be a guinea pig or beta tester.

P.S. The 2025 Flash is job 2.

Just because you spent $70k on a truck instead of less doesn't mean you get special treatment.

Unsure of your 2025 Flash Job 2 comment....

Am I in the charity business if I take my truck in for this battery module harvest?

This is an honest question for other early adopters (not for @El Duderino and his 2025 Flash).
You call it harvest, I call it warranty replacement.

Thus only replacing the affected modules are covered. The additional modules you want replaced would be charity.
