There really aren't any advantages to not keep the truck plugged-in, unless your home charger isn't located very well.
With the truck connected to grid power you can cool or heat the cabin using FordPass before you leave the house. You can also boost the power level from the kitchen table if...
Good news that it wasn't more serious. Please post a scan of the work order if you can. I am interested in the "control module for one of the battery modules".
The following shows fuses in a Mach E system that may be similar to the Lightning. This is from a good series of videos from WeberAuto.

"It's important to understand that performing a BMS calibration does not physically restore lost battery capacity (which is gone forever), it merely updates the computer estimate of capacity only so that it is more accurate. The battery has whatever intrinsic capacity is currently has regardless...
I have also seen a boost to my consumption rate similar to you, but in my case I had the tonneau cover removed and "stuff" in the bed. I believe in my case it was the 80 degree weather I was driving in.
Looks like another good reason for Chinese makers to build as close as possible to their customers. Just a few EVs, but +600 hybrid models, initial ideas point to HVB failure. A further impact to shipping insurance costs. What a mess, ship a total loss.
Thanks for the post. I agree, I can get (and exceed) the EPA rating of 2.4 miles/kWh on local driving. On longer trips, I now drive the speed limit and accept the cost is about equal to gas. Overall EVs are just tools and using the right tool for the task is the key.

In Costco parking lot, video shows HVB fire.
You were stopped when you took your photo. If you can stop on the way back long enough to turn the truck off briefly it will reset the "this trip" and you will have the uphill data on the screen.
That was quite a hill. We don't know exactly how efficient the regeneration is, but some believe it is about 50% of energy. Did you repeat the trip uphill to compare?
Do you have a tonneau cover of for your bed? It would seem necessary to make a vehicle cover function as intended. I have seen an outdoor garage tent as a possible solution, altho I have no personal experience with one.
A barrier helps for a short time if one party has gone asleep and has the ability to recover quickly. In the case of US automakers we have shown over the last 2-4 years we can not recover and may very well go the way of the American Shipbuilding industry.
Check out Mercedes road testing solid state battery. Interesting review of Toyota's failure to be the first solid state road test vehicle.

Welcome! Yes, the warning may disappear, just keep driving and charging as you will and monitor what is going on. Lots of good reading here on your new to you truck.
Just a reflection of Ford's decision to change directions with software development. Lots of news on that. Shocking how much money they spent on what turns out to be abandoned.
