I have also seen a boost to my consumption rate similar to you, but in my case I had the tonneau cover removed and "stuff" in the bed. I believe in my case it was the 80 degree weather I was driving in.

Thanks for the post. I agree, I can get (and exceed) the EPA rating of 2.4 miles/kWh on local driving. On longer trips, I now drive the speed limit and accept the cost is about equal to gas. Overall EVs are just tools and using the right tool for the task is the key.
