No reason to use a term like "retarded" when it's the user that lacks the knowledge.
You don't need to install FordPass. You can use a Tesla Supercharger, with an adapter, and the Tesla app. You can use EA with the EA app.
No.
The Lightning's 240v circuit can only handle 30amps. Your Bolt can't pull anywhere near that, so you can safely use that charger. Apparently the source I found was incorrect, the Bolt has a 32amp charger, so you need to use the Lightning's charger.
The Mach-E came with a 32amp charger...
For those that don't know, some credit cards have offers for Accessories.Ford.com. Right now, a Citi DoubleCash card gives 4% back, through 8/9. You have to enroll in the offer. Don't use a virtual card, put in the card info directly. Some Amex cards have 4% back also. Rakuten (formerly...
On any of the memberships (Tesla, EA), I join the morning of the trip, and immediately downgrade, which takes effect in 30 days. Breakeven analysis is easy. Tesla costs $12.99. If you save 20 to 24% on charging costing 48 cents (some is higher), that is roughly 10 cents per kWh, so breakeven...
Yes they're the same, but no they're not the same...
The differences are, IMO:
- immediacy of impact of change in temperature
- availability of refueling and the smaller distance between stops on EV
The impact of cold on the EV is quicker than the impact on the ICE vehicle also, partly...
3 years, but yes. Then we did the 2021 Mach-E, selling it when our ordered 2021 came in as a 2022, and making thousands. So, from 2018 to 2022, we had no costs for vehicle ownership including insurance.
Then we made up for it by buying a 2022 Mach-E and a 2022 Lightning, and watching EV...
No. There is no way to be a member through Ford. And, like Tesla, if you get the membership with EA, you must initiate charging via the EA app. Some people turn off Plug & Charge as a safety, because if your EA or Tesla initiated charging session fails to start, Plug & Charge can take over...
That's the beauty - it wasn't extra cost.
The Fusion PHEV, with rebates, cost less than the Fusion Hybrid, with rebates. THOUSANDS less. The downsides were it was heavier, and the trunk was smaller.
At the time we had a 2013 F-150 for the big vehicle, and my wife drove the Fusion to/from...
EA is 64 cents, plus tax, before discount at Selma, CA. With the membership, that would be 48 cents plus tax.
Tesla in Selma is 57 cents with tax. With discount it would be around 40 cents or so.
We had a Fusion PHEV. In winter, engine ran to create heat, killing the initial 10 minutes of efficiency. Then highway used rest of the battery up, unless you manually locked it into gas mode, which my wife never did. Car wasn't smart enough to turn off electric mode at highway speeds.
The...
Yes, it adapts constantly, but it isn't based on 5 or 10 minutes as he said. If it was, it would jump drastically.
It uses hundreds of miles for the estimate when you start, then as you drive it evaluates if it is different, and adjusts. Think weighted average with more weight on the...
My neighborhood of large homes qualifies....
48/40 = 20% faster.
131kWh battery. 15 to 80% is 65%, or 85kWh.
48amps is about 10.5kW, 40 is about 8.6.
85/10.5=8.1 hours
85/8.6=9.9 hours
Is it worth it to save 1.8 hours? When will that matter to you?
I believe only SunRun sells the HIS hardware. You may also want to read about the success, or lack thereof, in getting an HIS system to work automatically as designed.
