The difference is, DJI is a technology company and Ford is an auto manufacturer trying to be a technology company. I'm not disagreeing with you......I'm just saying.
Vehicle health reports is a basic checklist to determine if your vehicle is in good operating condition. That and your truck's...
Having a high SOC is important for OTA's to install, but it does nothing in terms of you getting an actual OTA sent to you. The way the algorithm determines whether the update is "safe" to install or not is dependent on more than just SOC.
Below is an error code from a failed OTA on a 2021 ICE...
Don't hold your breathe. The 19 year old kid from Ford's marketing team that's running their social media account doesn't know how to properly wipe his or her butt yet.......let alone when you're getting an update sent to you.
No way to force an update to be sent to your truck. No one knows when BC 1.3 will be officially released, but it is believed by people that know way more about this than I do that these 6.x.x updates are the beginning of the BC 1.3 rollout.
Correct. IPMA and IPC updates are needed for sure for BC 1.3.
6.2.0 is definitely a GWM update on the ICE trucks, so I doubt it'll be different for you guys.
This is great stuff! Especially the older ones. A few months back, Ford changed the way PTS displays the release notes and you can no longer see certain info related to the update including revision number.
ICE trucks started getting a new GWM OTA about a week ago. The OTA version is 6.1.0 and 6.2.0.....there are two of them. It is believed to be precursors for BC 1.3 for our trucks.
I have not. Due to some personal issues, I have not spent any time lately on this, but I've been lurking around.
Yes, you can receive OTA's out of the sequence in which they were released. When performing module updates manually with FDRS, there are certain modules that take precedence over...
I played with a bit yesterday. I set up a screen with boost/vacuum, air/fuel mixture, and throttle percentage gauges. Added a few more things like tranny temp, air charge temp and two other things I can't remember now. Most of the things worked and the ones that don't may not be available due to...
Thank you for this......just installed the plug-in on my S23 Ultra. Curious to see how this works with the 12" screen in my ICE truck. Now I just have to remember where I put my OBDII plug.
100% agreed. The way they roll them out is the biggest issue. This would be the main point the OP was asking about. As closely as I have been following these OTA's and the problems associated with them for the past two years, the one thing I have not been able to find is any sensical pattern as...
In this particular case, it could have been the TCU connecting from one tower to another during the server request delivery process since I was driving. Below is a screenshot from two days earlier when I was sent 4.2.3 while also at work. Everything is almost the same, except this time, it was...
This. You have to have an update sent to you before it can fail due to low SOC. Driving the vehicle makes no difference in terms of getting an update sent to you. Auto-updates being on or off does not matter most of the time, as that only applies to updates that require the vehicle to be...
Yes, up to a certain point. PTS supposedly records up to 60 days worth of history, but in the case of failed/installed updates, it can record a lot longer than that.
