I understand why TTY bolts offer far superior strength to regular bolts, but they are usually selected when the forces in play are parallel to the bolt, such as in a head bolts which is holding a cylinder head to a block while there is an explosion in the combustion chamber trying to throw the...
I know it’s a bit of a rabbit hole to go down, but I agree it’s a bit of a head scratcher that the bolts are stretch fit considering which direction the forces on a bed are likely to be. If anyone has insight I would love to know why just to satisfy curiosity.
Dealer removed (possibly replaced) my bolts when they did the spray-in. Glad they did because I had to remove 4 of them to install the BedSlide. The Bed Slide instructions (the ford specific no drill kit) came with new bolts.
I installed spacers, but putting in coilovers would require access to the same bolts. And yes the issues is the extra wires associated with the hybrid system.
I measured the resistance on the latch side of the pins as 653K ohm. However a 650K resistor still resulted in an error screen. I checked the signal from the BCM and it was pulsing, so it looks like it might be some form of ICP or serial link between the two. Crazy complicated for a contact...
Seatbelt extenders do work... but they are so big they dig into the kids side. I'm not overly large (6', 175lb) and they bothered me a bit. My halfling kids are only 4' and 70 lb, they can't cope with them. I think a resistor will work once I measure the open and closed resistance.
No luck using the belt-minder disable on the rear seats. I'm 99% positive it's a separate system. I did try unplugging the sensor from the bottom of the latch, and that resulted in a belt monitor error: service required message. A paperclip jumping it didn't help either. I'll have to go out...
I've branched into a new thread because I can't find this in settings.

I don't think this is the same thing. I've used this to turn off the chime on the front seats, but I'm not sure it will work on the back seats. I will test this at lunch and report back.
Thanks for the input.
Starting a new thread forking off from the Forscan thread. I'm looking to eliminate the seatbelt monitoring system. This is the system that gives you a popup on the gauge cluster when someone in the backseat unbuckles their seatbelt. I drop off kids 3-4 times per day, and this pop up is...
No, that is disabled. What I am looking to eliminate is the popup when the truck is still powered on and someone in the rear seat unbuckles their seatbelt. I get a map of all 5 seatbelts with a green check or a red X, and I have to click OK to dismiss it or the pop up will stay there, even if I...
Looking to eliminate the stupid pop-up alert that tells me the kids in the backseat unbuckled and got out of the car. A google search didn't appear to have any relevant results either, so it looks like I might be forging a new path on this one. Since the Drivers and Passengers Seat Belt Minders...
We paid $2200 for full hood, front bumper, front fenders, and side mirrors on my wife's Mach-E. This included the 10 year warranty where they will re-wrap it if the PPF gets chewed up with rocks.

I've got a few 3D printed items for the F150, I'm sure a few more will be coming as work slows down.
