Correct. Tesla app will then ask you to choose the specific charger stand. Then Tesla app shows you how to connect adapter to the Tesla NACS end, and then tells you to plug into the truck. On my first attempt I plugged into the truck first and then went through the Tesla app. Did not work...

We have a VW ID4 that should get Tesla access by the end of the year. Doubt VW will be providing adapters, so the spare adapter will go in the VW.

My 2023 Lariat also came with an adapter. It has a Ford part number on it. But as others have stated there are other styles of adapters that will work. On the label it states to set EV charging limit to 24 amps (output) when using adapter.
