If spring loaded it may make it harder to plug in some DCFC cords that are quite thick and take two hands to handle. I suspect Ford engineers took all the above mentioned points and designed the DC pin cover as best they could to fit most situations.
Believe the truck has to be stationary first for the Auto Return to Park to work. Then an Open Door and Unlatched Seat Belt will activate Auto Return to Park.
From the manual p.228:
I suspect that the Tesla Supercharger Unit cares little about what adapter is used.
An empty pedestal does not make them any money. The more folks charging the better for them.
Others here have reported the A2Z adapter works just fine for Plug & Charge.
Just have to make sure your truck has received the Tesla update to use P&C with Tesla chargers.
Unfortunately my truck has not been updated, so unable to personally attest to it.
Yes. I used a Tesla mobile charger with the 14-30 plug pigtail. It charges at 24 amps.
I used the Ford yellow adapter that came with my truck and plugged it into the Pro Power L30 outlet. Then plugged my 14-50 to 14-30 adapter into the yellow adapter. Then I was able to plug the 14-30...
If you search for "Ford F-150 Swing Case" will find lots of videos on how to install.
There are a couple different brands/styles to choose from and are specific for right or left side of the truck bed.

For the Power Tailgate (p.96) it does mention the retaining screw.
I looked at my 2023 Lariat and it does have the screw.
Likely doesn't know a cell from a module.
Next time might ask which "cell" # they are removing. There are hundreds of cells, but I think only 13 modules on ER and maybe 9 modules on SR.
@MountainAlive , your Connectivity screen looks very different than mine (see photos). It is possible the dealer did not fully activate your truck upon sale.
If you search YouTube for a "Swing Case Install Ford" they should show how to remove taillight.
After removing bolts believe it is straight back pull and then a bit to the outside. Been a while since I did it. They are a snug fit.
I thought 2 of thee 3 things had to happen for the car to automatically return to Park:
Seat belt off, door open, and seat sensor unoccupied.
If only 1 occurred then truck would stay in gear.
This may have changed though.
Different Ford regions have different rebate amounts. Some regions got $5k others got $7.5k on Lariats.
Believe all their regions got $7.5k on the XLT models.
