  1. I need someone to help me respond to this if possible.

For my property, with a large Inverter-solar-ESS (Energy Storage System Battery over 100kWh) I use the truck as a back up power source only to supply a DC charger feeding my main ESS. This has two benefits, and one drawback: The two benefits: 1. The truck can supply a low but steady power...
  2. After a year and a half.....

Interesting - thanks for the link. in just six months, my Lightning has saved me $5,000 (USD) in "Not-Gas" driving in my rural NW. Ontario setting. I have a solar-battery set up on the property and look forward to using the lightning battery in my energy storage system some day - even if it's...
  3. Another Post on Range Lower than Expected

What is everyone's experience on this? Personnally my lowest SOC driving on the hwy was 18%, dropped to 15% just as I reached my charging station in a small town, and I noticed no impact on drivability, just the dash display telling me I am in low SoC territory ... how low did you go? What did...
  4. Is this T3? August 11th "Model T moment" for Ford says Jim Farley

Model T moment? ... I did a search for ALL the Body on frame (non-unibody), Fully-Electric, pickup trucks offered in N.America and found ... ONE - so I bought it. LOL.
  5. I need someone to help me respond to this if possible.

The 'ground' on the truck is just a chassis-ground, not a earth-ground-electrode.
  6. Any update on a NACS extension cable?

I wonder if the cable will be temperture sensing - ie during -40 winter charging, no reduction in charge speed vs hot summer weather...
  7. Any update on a NACS extension cable?

I am watching and hope for a few lengths to be offered. ie multiple options so you can pick what best suits your situation - long cable for those with trailers, short cables for those that just want to pull into a Tesla supercharger and use the cable that belongs with the stall your parked...
  8. Look what followed me home :-P

If you have the room for a car port - I find it does a great job with less expense than a full garage. I have a lot of shop space but need it to run my business, so built a two bay car port on steel posts for my truck and her SUV. Keeps off the snow/rain/sun makes the paint and trim last...
  9. Lightning sales down 42 percent in May

My thinking is the battery tech needs to leap frog the existing available. Likely in ten years there will be new batteries and charging options that make today seem like the stone-age by comparison. Ten years with this truck would be perfect.
  10. T-Boned Today. Is It Totaled?

Glad to hear they are in the Ball-Park at least, hope you come to a reasonable final value with the Insurance co soon. At least this way you are not waiting while repairs are going on, then wondering if there will be 'surprises' when you get it back - ie glitches that haunt you and send the...
  11. Lightning sales down 42 percent in May

I parked my 2500 Ram and stopped paying $150/week in gasoline when I got my Lightning in February 2025. Now I charge for 'free' most of the time from home solar during summer, will be back to overnight 2.8cents/kWh in late October when the sun heads south again...either way I save a ton of...
  12. Frunk loud pops when opening

Interesting, anyone know if there is a difference between the 2022/2023 Frunk operation and the 2024/2025 operation? - I mean it clicks and pops up a bit, and is kinda slow, but doesn't make "that much" noise really, nor does it get stuck - maybe over time starts to wears out? {my wife just...
  13. T-Boned Today. Is It Totaled?

Ditto That ! (well I have ten years in mind, but I like your confidence!) Year 2045 little boy says to his parent "What is THAT - pointing at F-150 Lightning driving by" Parent to the little boy "That son, is a Classic" :)
  14. Introductions & Welcome Thread 👋

I like to charge to 85% overnight (we have very low overnight utility rate) and use whatever I use during the day. Repeat. I don't normally charge above 85%, unless I have a long hwy trip planned, and even then I time it to just reach the higher SOC at about my departure time, so it's not...
  15. Introductions & Welcome Thread 👋

I got my Lightning around the same time line. no issues with the charger - sorry no idea what would be causing your charger to mess up. Hope they fix it for you soon. I put 12,000 km so far (7500 miles) and legit agree hands down the best truck I have ever owned - even the factory tires in deep...
  16. Fifth Wheel towing with the Lightning

I don't have a 5th wheel but pull a 14,000lb 20' flat deck twin axel and an 11' foot dump trailer enough with the Lightning to know it out performs my 2500 Ram in short distance hauling - especially in the stop and go city stuff. A surprisingly good towing rig in short haul work.
  17. My BougeRV 30QT Fridge setup in frunk

I took the chance and just ordered ... If I fill it with her favourites, get them all nice and cold and show up at just the right moment at the end of a hot day...I think the cooler will get a thumbs up ! - taking the 12 volt cover off while parked with the cooler running seems like it may help...
  18. New Charging Entity Entering the South East

I think it is a good idea in general to use local charging stations - even when we don't really need to. It's a way to check that the connecting/charging process is working properly with various charging networks (so we can rely on them when we DO need them during travel) and I feel it will...
