Except that by 2035 nobody will want to buy a new ICEV. EVerybody will want to buy a new EV instead. You’re hardly “forcing “ people if their only option is what they would’ve wanted anyway. I would doubt manufacturers will even still sell gas cars here by 2030, let alone 2035. Good thing...
And that’s exactly why the sales manager at my local dealership said they would stick to MSRP. “Yes, we could make some more money right now playing these ADM games, but we’d rather you come back to us next time you need a vehicle….and the time after that too”.
Not sure if you were just kidding, but I regularly use a single “burner” induction stove on camping trips. Plugs into regular 120 outlet, so Lightning should have no problem running it. Heats up fast, admittedly not as fast as gas, but faster than the electric stove top at home.
You’re correct in stating EVs should not be forced on drivers. Nothing will have to be “forced” on anybody. People are lining up to buy them today, and will do so even more in the future, of their own free will. Ford having to stop accepting new reservations for the Lightning is just one...
Absolutely, all rooftop solar here since 2014. I think you’re correct about the grid in its current state, but I’m sure we as a society will put a lot of effort into improving it over the next few years. We really need, and will achieve, both: a better grid *and* individual rooftop production...
We can do it with wind, solar, and improvements to the transmission grid. It’s happening right now. Fastest and cheapest way to build out our grid capacity and electrify everything. Not just cars but heating, cooking, industrial processes. Ten years and we’ll be there. Exciting times! We’re...
Does anyone on here know how this applies to Ford specifically? Are they currently paying fines, or are they selling enough MMEs to meet the quota? Are light trucks even included in this quota system?
Last reply before we piss off everyone else here by veering off topic- this one will settle it, I promise! Coal powered Tesla, eh? Soooo…..where did all that coal come from? Maybe from ancient forests? How did those grow? Photosynthesis you say? What’s the main energy input for photosynthesis...
I saw that too, maybe enough people asked for it and they changed their mind? Also looks like Pro will NOT offer the optional 9.6 kW power output. At least it’s not mentioned in the (very brief) description. Ugh, I really wanted that. If so I might have to bite the $bullet and get the XLT.
Another exhaustive answer, and yet you’re still wrong. I think you’re confusing two separate issues: on the financial aspect you’re absolutely correct. On the purely technical aspect, you undercut your own argument when you state that, yes, some of the electricity from your panels is charging...
