True, I am looking at a used EV for my daughter to use for school (lives at home). She can take advantage of a great car, no fuel cost, and we have chargers. However, when I send her off to the big university, will most likely get her an ICE vehicle. There are no chargers at the dorms, she...
Welcome. Great truck. You will be amazed at how great it is to drive. Then you will be frustrated as you get more adventurous. That's what this group is for. If you never leave your town and just do small/med daily commutes, you will not have any concerns. Obviously, there may be technical...
I think cheap EVs ($25-$30k) will still be a middle class, second car option, I just don't see these cars as an all around savior. The cheap Corollas, Hyundai's, Kia's, etc. will be for the majority of people who only can afford one car. The can drive anywhere, no fueling issues, and don't have...
Its all based on geometry of the suspension setup. I am no engineer, but thinking that under hard braking actions, the vehicle body may squat forward just slightly. In that scenario, the wheel may then be centered in the wheel well. Just a thought.
Ford is in the business to sell vehicles, as many as possible, to the broadest market. Unfortunately, EVs still have a stigma. Mostly around range, how fast to refill, and where can I find a charging station that works.
I have to take a extended drive last Saturday, 283 miles one way. There...
I do not doubt cold glass and hot temps do not mix. However, theses are laminated windshields with special properties. Ford sold approximately 75,000 Lightnings over the last three years. I am pretty sure they did an engineering analysis when they designed the windshield defrost system. This...
No, the vehicle is always parked outside, and we are in a cold snap. Negative temps. I will wait for the weather to warm a little when I can work outside. The turn signals all work, i double checked. I am guessing its from the Blind Spot monitoring system not working. But i don't drive...
After doing some donuts in the snow in an empty parking lot, I now have a noise above the headliner over the rear seat. I suspect a wiring harness came loose and now is hitting the headliner. This was not crazy abusive driving, driving down gravel road shakes a vehicle worse. I'm just...
Agreed. I will note that after my donut session in an empty parking lot, a noise appeared in the headliner above the rear seat. Others in this forum have reported it. Sounds like a wiring harness came loose and is hitting the headliner when i go over bumps.
I just read the manual. Apparently I only turned off Traction Control. It still had Stability Control enabled. To turn off both, you need to hold down the Traction Control button for more than 5 seconds.
I was playing with the truck in an empty parking lot in the snow. I turned off traction control, but it still engaged and the icon flashed on the dash. I did have one pedal drive on and was in normal mode. What is the secret to turning traction control completely off?
Interesting story. We were going to go pick up a puppy. It was about a 230 mile trip to the breeder. Then 230 miles back. Figured I could hi the superchargers in the metro and then get out into the country. Well from the metro , to the breeder, then back to the metro exceeded my range now in...
