  1. Bluecruise OTA Status?

Ken, as Bruce pointed out (above), you seem to have the classic symptoms for OTA failure. I finished Dealer visit #3 today to deal with this problem - 4 days in the shop! -and they proudly announced I had OTA capability. I got in the car and found it wasn't working. How this kind of...
  2. Bluecruise OTA Status?

Cool Rod, my experience may answer your question. My truck was caught up in the 'insulation vs. drive shaft' recall and, sure enough, my drive shaft was scored and deemed undriveable. The dealer stated their policy, when they impound a vehicle from further use, was a max of 3 days for covering...
  3. Bluecruise OTA Status?

I'm still w-a-y back on 1.4 with a May 2021 Powerboost. Been to the dealer twice for an OTA fix, at their invitation, only to get no fix. No hint - from Ford or the dealer - about the dealer uploading Bluecruise, as promised some time ago by Ford. My question: What other ways exist for...
  4. Complain About Ford/BlueCruise

Terry (TNKIRK) I think you are stuck in the same loop I am. My dealer has received two USB drives or flash drives with the 'fix it' software which, at least in my case and apparently yours, doesn't fix the bugs imbedded in our Sync4 software. Take a look at the TSB posted just a few posts...
  5. Complain About Ford/BlueCruise

(Another) interesting read about Ford's failures WRT software . Guess I'm not alone with my OTA & BC issues, altho' some might think so given my dealer's level of knowledge about all this. Twice my dealer has obtained updated software from Ford to correct my dysfunctional OTA capability...
  6. Power-up 1.7.1 OTA Installed

Like aphqrsemec and GolfR1, I lost the ability to receive auto updates...but here's what's weirder: May build, June delivery, Sync V 1.4, all is great. In Aug/Sep, an 'Alert' message on Ford Pass says I received an update to 1.7. Checked in the truck: Yup, V 1.7. Then I started reading...
  7. Is your FordPass app crap, too?

I'm new to Ford products with a June 2021 Powerboost build that I'm extremely impressed and also pleased with. And there are a number of functions available on the FordPass app I appreciate. But good golly, what an unstable piece of crap my app has been so far. I'm wondering: Is this normal...
  8. No updates being received

I opted for automatic updates, which I set up some months ago. My F150 gets an 'excellent' (so says Sync) wifi signal from the house. After reading this thread, I went out to the truck and found the auto setting was now both cancelled and Sync refuses to allow auto reselection. With no other...
  9. Ford BlueCruise OTA Rollout Delayed Until Q1 2022

It may come to pass that, at roughly the time BC OTA becomes available, Ford awards all owners equipped with the Prep package a Ford Pass Rewards credit. It would be serve both as an incentive to subscribe, since the actual sub cost would be partially offset, and a form of apology or attempted...
  10. Invoice Price for 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning - How It'll Be Calculated

Re: JT's comment above: "If I read this right it says invoice equals MSRP..." When I was picking up my 2021 Powerboost (at below invoice), I asked to meet with the dealership owner as I wanted to hear how he was going to be pricing Mach-E's. Would his pricing be as aggressive? He stated that...
  11. Ford BlueCruise OTA Rollout Delayed Until Q1 2022

There's a parallel discussion on all this over at the Mustang Mach-E forum, with much the same sentiments. (https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/ford-bluecruise-ota-rollout-delayed-until-q1-2022.10830/) The view folks there have arrived at is that BC works just fine, and it's so far been...
  12. Ford BlueCruise OTA Rollout Delayed Until Q1 2022

Robert, can you please offer some more info about how you're using a system Ford hasn't rolled out yet. Or is every October build with a prep package running around while using BC? I confess I'm behind the curve on this, except that I keep tapping my toe with impatience for 'my' BC OTA...
  13. Impressions from Ford F-150 Lightning EV Tour -- Boston

I was just working off the earlier premise that a HD version of the PB would be appealing to some buyers. I can see the logic that it would...but I don't think the sales of two PB models would come close to supporting the additional cost and manufacturing complexities of having two 'versions'...
  14. Impressions from Ford F-150 Lightning EV Tour -- Boston

Interesting discussion. Of course, broadening model and powertrain choices distributes a given level of customer demand across a broader range of builds the manufacturer must build and then sell. That usually doesn't work. I wouldn't have opted for a heavier suspension as, looking at option...
  15. Impressions from Ford F-150 Lightning EV Tour -- Boston

Thanks for the encouraging news, Nathan. To the extent vehicle electrification can help us offset some of the increasing climate threat, a well executed intro of electric vehicles into the commercial fleets should have a positive impact over time on the growth in retail demand, as well. As a...
  16. Report from using 7.2kw ProPower generator at campsite without shore power

Well, donā€™t I feel like an idiot, Robert. Looked for that option on the panel but never thought to treat the temp control button as a push-in button. Thanks for that!
  17. Report from using 7.2kw ProPower generator at campsite without shore power

Hereā€™s one ā€œoperational detailā€ I overlooked when boondocking several days ago. Plugged the trailer into the truck, blanked the center display, turned off the A/C and ratcheted the fan down to ā€˜1ā€™. Nothing else was left on, so good to go, right? Seemed to me the engine ran more than our low...
  18. Ford Hires Doug Field, Former Head of Apple's Car Project and Executive at Tesla

Thanks for posting this, Admin. My first thought when reading the announcement was for Hau Thai-Tang. If ever there was a guy who, despite his intelligence and experience, is overworked, it must be Thai-Tang. I don't know anything about Field but doubt Farley hires direct reports without...
  19. Towing an Airstream with Gen14, and ProPower 7.2

FYI here's just a single data point re: towing while using Lane Centering to share with the group: I'm finding that LC works reliably with my towing set-up at 60 mph and lower. That's my PB towing a two-axle 24' 5500# Lance trailer while using an Andersen WD hitch.
